All is needed is to create a registry entry.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\ Samsung Today 2]
"Order"=dword:00000003
"Flags"=dword:00000000
"Enabled"=dword:00000001
"Options"=dword:00000001
"Type"=dword:00000005
"Selectability"=dword:00000002
"DLL"="secst.dll"

Thats it. Doesn't even require a reboot. This may also be the answer to those having issues with Samsung Today 2 on their VZW Omnias, too.

I was unable to import a .reg file with PHM registry editor, but if you have an app that can, here is the .reg file. (attached as 'sammy_2')
How do I do the bold part? I was able to add the other values as Dwords and put the setting at the specific number...but how do I do the DLL thing???

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

How do I configure omnia to install all files on the "My Storage" rather than the "Main Memory Storage" using a reg editor? You guys familiar with "ProgramFilesDir" in windows right? changing the path saves you space in that small 90+ mb main memory storage area. If samsung just made that area bigger and much more wider options to save in another media could have been better. I use a lot of skyscape apps and it easily consumes the main memory storage even if I choose to install the apps by choosing location to "My storage" upon prompt, still some files are stored in the main memory. Any tips guys?

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

Hi Omni'ers. I've been fiddling with the screen touch sensitivity for the past couple of days and found one that suits me and thought I'd share.

(very sensitive):
HKLM/HARDWARE/DEVICEMAP/TOUCH
click = 5120
downUp= 896

This change made the texting faster and strangely more accurate, my fingers just glide(and tap) over the letters. I had a much higher downup value but when trying to configure S2U2 the screen would slide up and down like crazy so I ended up with this.

Also: I diabled the Sammy Dialer (-10MB) which disabled the screen lock during a call and tested these settings out because of the increased sensitivity of the screen. Rarely did my ear push a random soft button (usually the Start Menu icon). All this was done after the GPS unlock firmware update.

Does anyone have a screen lock solution for the default dialer while on a call? Tried S2U2 but all it seems to do is make the screen blank (black) until it's woken up somehow.

None of this could have been done without you guys at PPCGeeks! Who needs an iPhone when they have a completely customizable Sammy Omnia!
This post has been thanked 1 times.

The GPS unlock firmware mentioned above, Is that for the Verizon 910? If so where do I find it?

Yes, it's for the Omnia i910 from Verizon.

You can find the GPS stuff here in this thread:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...ht=gps&page=10

Its on Modoco and the theiDoctor link is helpful as well.

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

Yep, search the forum for the patched dialer. I created it a while back.

If you find bugs though, you will need to take the project over, because the new beta rom introduced a switch to increase time until it locks, or turn off altogether.

Makes my life easier

Also, saving that 10mb of ram is only during a call. I don't need ram during a call

Doh! You're right. "ram" being the key word...

Cool, I'll do a search for it. This thread is so long now and I'm trying to read it from the beginning just incase I missed something awesome.
