Create a String Value named Default. For the value, name is Low Battery Warning.

You will now be able to modify the settings under Notifcations.

Or import this reg file.
I put the batt.reg file in my mass storage area. When I open it it says it will install in the registry files. Is this where I want it? I don't want to load something that will mess up the phone or registry? Thanks.

Just go with the flow. It will be fine. Let it import as it wishes

How do I look in the phone registry if I want to delete something I installed or just look at what's going on?

Use a registry editor. I recommend CeRegEditor.

One more question. I allowed the batt.reg to load to the registry. According to the earlier thread it said once loaded I could go to notifications and adjust the battery warning sounds. I loaded the batt.reg but there is nothing in notifications that I can adjust the battery tone on. Thoughts? Thanks again.

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

Hmmm, I think the original wording is you could modify the settings for it. Let me enable the hack and play with it again. I actually forgot about it

Mostly, its to turn it off. Only works for low warning though, not critical.

YMMV.

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

Yeah to change the sound, you'd have to do it via registry.

Smile Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

Thanks. I'm learning here. I downloaded the program for looking at the registry and was able to go in and view the battery registry, data values, etc. Since I've never messed with any of this, what would I want to do in this area without screwing something up? What do the numbers in the data value mean? What kind of things should I or should I not change if any? Thanks again for your help and knowledge.

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

Peripatetic Bibliophage.....whatever you do in the registry settings, I want to very strongly suggest (if you haven't already) getting a good backup app if you haven't already (SPB, RESCO....) and like Adrynalyne has in his signature.....do a full backup before you do ANY changes. Registry changes can do very strange things to a PPC if your not careful, and without a backup you may have to start from scratch after the hard reset a reg change gone wrong will lead to!!!!

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

Back up first and foremost.

After that, its your playground, but there are some things to note:

1. You can hose your phone with it, causing a hard reset and a backup restore.
2. It can cause your phone to behave erratically, if you change the wrong things.

That said--look for the hacks you want/need. Follow them to the 't', and be careful. Thats it.

Never be afraid to ask a question on a hack, its better to be well informed, than half informed, and breaking something.
