Thanks. I synced the extracted zip file to the phone, but there is nothing under notifications for modifying the battery beep. Did I miss something?

Adrynalyne, maybe you can help me. I am a complete novice to all of this, but my problem is that annoying dialer lock on my omnia i910. I followed your link to the download of the dialer patch and don't know how to download it onto my phone. When I plugged the phone to my computer and tried to save your program, there was no option for the phone in any category (My Computer, My Documents, etc.) So my question is how do you suggest that I proceed at this point. You are obviously brilliant at this stuff and you have succeeded in doing it yourself. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The easiest way is to turn on USB mass storage mode.

Start, settings, connections tab, USB Connection Mode.

Set it to Mass storage, and then choose what you are going to use, My Storage, or Storage Card.

The best way is to connect via Activesync.

Or if you want to browse the net by phone, I will shorten the URL for you.

Download it from there to your device, then tap to install.

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, I'm still having issues with this. I'll tell you what I did so far. I changed the setting in my phone to mass storage (my storage). I am connected to the computer with ActiveSync. I went to download the dialer patch and when it asked to open or save, I chose save. Then it asks where to save it, and I chose WM_Mike My Documents. When I go to save it, a box pops up saying download complete, and it asks if I want to Open or Open folder. If I choose open, then a box window comes up with 2 folders in it. One says i910PA~1.000 and the other one says _setup.xml Where do I go from there? That's where I'm stuck. By the way, what exactly do you mean when you say "tap to install"? As you can see, I'm very new to this stuff. Any further help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Don't open the file. What is happening is your computer is trying to extract it, like a zip file. Thats not what you want to do. You want to save it, then from your PHONE tap to install the file you downloaded.

Does that make sense? Make sure you turn off usb mas storage mode when you are done and before you restart.

Thanks again. I understand what you're saying except for one thing. I really don't know how to "tap to install the file I downloaded" from the phone. Could you walk me through that series of steps? Obviously, you are telling me to find your dialer cab. program on the computer from my phone and get it into the phone, but I have no idea how to do that. Also, is it necessary to do a soft reset after I'm finished? If you can get me through this successfully, I'll buy you a vodka martini. Thanks.

Ok. Let me talk you through this like you are downloading from the phone.

I must recommend that everyone backup before installing new software. Its the safest way to fly.

1. Open Opera browser. In the address bar, type http://tinyurl.com/c5w5bd and navigate to this page.

2.Above the file icon is a download link. Tap this. Its going to ask you to open, save, cancel. Choose save. Leave the name as it is. Folder as none. Location, rap drop down box and choose My Storage. Tap Save.

3. Double tap the "Green" checkmark to start installing. It may ask you where to install, but I don't think so. If it does, choose Device. Once its done, it will tell you to restart.

Tap ok at the bottom left, and it will restart for you.

That should be it.
