Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

Those are enhancements made by soundtester.exe in \Windows. It cant hurt to try it, if it cuases issue, simply delete HKLM\SAMSUNG. Backing up is always a good idea, of course.

No, rotationservice allows you to control which apps will use the motion sensor, and switch to landscape. It works on a per application basis.

As for Omnia SIP, I hear ya. I stopped using it because I dont like soft resetting all the time.

Re: Omnia Hacks / Tips / Tricks

increase SMS/MMS space!

When using threaded messaging, it only gives you a small area to see your text between above messages and the keyboard. You can increase this by copying this file to \Windows.

Unzip and copy it, using something like resco.
Attached Files
File Type: zip thread_sms.zip (659 Bytes, 379 views) Click for barcode!

The only thing inside this zip file is an html file (with no internet addresse, so it resolves locally... as nothing). What's up?

I decided to try to do this, but ran into an error. Using Windows Explorer, I opened the \Windows directory on my phone and tried to drag the unzipped file into it. However, I got an "access denied" error. I've shut down all tasks, so I don't think the file is in use, but it is a read-only file so that might be the problem. However, I couldn't find a way to make the file on the Omnia not be read-only. Any thoughts on what's going wrong or how to solve it? I also tried to use a copy/paste from my storage card to the \Windows directory but ran into the same problem.

You'll need a different explorer application. Try Total Commander or Resco Explorer (not free).

Ah, that would explain the problem. Thanks. I'll give it a try.
