Re: Thinking of installing SPB Mobile Shell
That is it, Shell is interfering with the flasjlight, and all this time I thought it was the volume skin that came with S2U2. I winder if a fix can be found for this. I will do some looking, but quite honestly I don't know where to begin!! Maybe I'll post it over at SPB (although with Shell 3.0 being released any day now, I don't know how much support they will give 2.__!!

Re: Thinking of installing SPB Mobile Shell
I just installed mobile shell and phone suite. Great. Now, I can't sync to Active sync, I can't find a setup icon, and my phone and data doesn't work even though the comm manager says the phone is on. I call it and it rings then goes to vm. Can someone help me with this. Obviously I am doing something wrong.
Incidentally, I purchased it and downloaded it from the SPB site into my device. The cab file came up and loaded. I hit the SPBsetup.exe using File Explorer and it says it is not a pocket pc application. Thanks, Rick Last edited by hd2; 03-11-2009 at 09:55 AM. |

Re: Thinking of installing SPB Mobile Shell
make sure you download and use the cab file.
then make sure active sync is check and not mass storage in the usb connection settings. and make sure the check mark for enable advance network functionality is unchecked. its nothing to do with spb though.

I found the network functionality checked so I unchecked it. Everything else was completed as you said. This has not helped. I have both the data arrows going either direction and the phone symbol shows a dish (?) with an exclamation point. I did a soft reset after taking out menubutton and wktask mgr just in case as well as su2u. Any more Ideas would be appreciated. Thanks Rick |

how can I get in there and remove the Watcher before it kicks off? also, no love in connecting to activesync as the phone locks so quickly. Any suggestions, please. |

Re: Thinking of installing SPB Mobile Shell
goon55.......I hope you do backups, because it is looking like a hard reset is in your future. Can you get out of the error messages at all, or do they keep re-populating as you exit out of them? I has Watcher running when I upgraded to MS3 and it just ignored it, I didn't have this problem.
I can think of two possible solutions: If you have SPB PocketPlus installed, it can start-up after a soft reset (3 within a short time I think it is) in 'safe' mode, allowing you to go behind the scenes and uninstall Watcher. That is the only app that has that capability as far as I know. Or you can just do a hard reset and either start from scratch, or recover from a backup file and then uninstall Watcher before installing MS3 and see if that was the problem!! Good luck |

Hey thanks for the reply. I did end up doing a hard reset. which is ok because I DO use SPB Backup and actually completed one right before I tried the upgrade so i am all good now. I will have to check into the SPB PocketPlus, seems like a 'safe' mosde would be a good option to have available. BTW, SPB Shell 3.0 rocks so far. it is much quicker and has way more options than 2.1. thanks again for the reponse. |
