Yeah....it seems that on the Omnia there ate (as of now) two minor differences in the way S2U2 works on it compared to other devices:

1- The battery issue you mentioned...it is only the animation though, it doesn't affect the charging or usage.

2- No carrier line or signal bars show on Omnias (unless you use the Personalizer app found in the applications forum) again....does not affect usage!!

A_C does know about both issues, and I sent him the reg files to look through. I know as of now he doesn't know what it is, and personally, I am not bothered by it and don't pay any attention to it.....but knowing A_C....you never know!!!!

Re: Some S2U2/Omnia love!!!

I just installed it.
But, uhm. Well.... for something that everyone is raving about as a "must have" I'm not sure what to think. I hope what I am experiencing is simply a lack of knowledge on how to fully utilize it because as of now, I don't see what the major advantage is.
The sliding unlock looks cool and is mildly entertaining. Sometimes. But it is not particularly fast acting. And in order to quickly lock my phone - such as immediately after a call and before putting it into my pocket - I still have to push the red key twice....and thus unlock it using the two on screen buttons - after using the slide unlock. Thus it is one more button to deal with in order to unlock the phone.

What am I missing with this app? What other great things does it do?

What I did was remap the camera button to s2u2. This way all I have to do it hit the camera button (on the side) to start up s2u2. Originally, the camera button is mapped to the media library, which I never use anyway.

Re: Some S2U2/Omnia love!!!

You need to play around with the settings. It really is a great program.

I had a simiular problem as you. Make sure you setup your lock not to activate when you turn off the device. That way you only are using the S2U2 program to lock your device and not the default one as well.

Just curious...when you mention this two on screen button part, do you still have the WM lock enabled? I would make sure that is disabled, because like you mention, it is more to do, and essentially not needed. As far as locking after a call, if you hang-up (red button) and do what volsmcfalls suggested (I do that as well...great suggestion), all you need to do is hit the side button and your good to go.

There is the finger-friendly volume skin....very easy to use without a stylus), caller ID screen (full-screen or thumbnail) offering larger on-screen buttons, or a slider (for those accidental answers) to answer or ignore!

Another advantage is that if the phone is locked when a call comes in, it will automatically lock after your done....allowing you to not even have to hit hte extra button!!

Re: Some S2U2/Omnia love!!!

Thanks for the input.
--------------
volsmcfalls,
I remapped my camera button to the Task Manager and use it constantly to keep programs closed that I am not using. (It would be nice if the Omnia gave me a choice as to which programs I want to continue running when I close them. The only one for me would be a media player) How would you do this without the camera button? Or, I suppose a better question would be "how do you deal with the mass of programs that never close?"

I don't understand.
Setup the default Omnia lock to "not lock"? Or setup the S2U2 lock to "not lock"?

If you push and breifly hold the call end button on the lower right, the screen will lock. In order to unlock it you tap on a tiny button in the lower left that says "unlock" which then brings up another unlock button farther up the screen which you tap ....and then it is ulocked.
To quickly lock the screen if I need to throw the thing into my pocket, I use this method. But I was hoping the S2U2 would make this operation smoother by allowing me to quickly lock and unlock.

As for the volume control, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be seeing. When I push the volume buttons a black screen appears with gray sliders. Is that it? The default Omnia is a green/white slider after pushing the volume button. The S2U2 is a bit larger and lacks color - is there something else?
Thanks!
Chris

Chris, on the omnia (may be the same with other ppcs?) you can bring up the task manager by dragging your finger (or stylus) from the middle of the bottom of the screen upwards. On the omnia, begin with the middle of the bar that says Phone and Main Menu and drag quickly upwards about halfway. This should pop up the task manager. Then you can remap the camera button to whatever you want.
