Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

Hi Brandogg:
The answer is yes, the Telcel Omnia does have a front and rear camera, and Telcel also has the video call service. My phone is just like those sold by Telcel, except that I bought it through ebay, and it was issued by Vodafone. It is unlocked and working well though, except for the video call thing...

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

This one is for Verizon users; Of course I have the I910. I've unlocked the gps using the leaked rom, etc. I haven't flashed it since. I have however installed the cabs to get WMWifiRouter working so that I can tether it to my laptop. See, I'm moving and don't have internet access at home for a few weeks now due to the transition. Using the phone to tether to the laptop for internet is a great thing. My problem is that now my phone cannot get a data connection. It trys to dial the #777, but it won't go thru. I cannot get the internet, send pics, video, or audio. Only the phone part works. I've dialed the #777 number myself and listen'd. Basically it said I didn't have access and gave me an error #. Does anyone know of or had this same problem? I'd like to know if it is something I can fix before going to verizon for a solution. Thanks in advance!

EDIT: To save time, I have the unlimited data plan, the WMWifiRouter did work for a few days, I have checked my acct online and I have used 158mb in this current month and unlimited data plan still seems to be active, all bills are paid on time.

Not had time to flash to new rom yet, but with further reading about the WMWifiRouter, I was able to learn about the "Crash Cleanup" option within the program itself. That corrected my data connection and all is well.

Back to tethering in the new house!

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

I have been searching the threads for htis problem and I seem to be the only one with it....

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

The only thing I can think of off-hand is to ask if you programmed the Omnia after flashing (*22? Other than that, I haven't seen this issue before. Did you flash the cc20 first? When you flashed the current, did you hit PDA only or the PDA/phone combo button on the UMDL screen? One other thing...(I am assuming you can though) is to ask if the 'phone' part works?

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

Phone works fine. Flashed according to all of the manuals. I can send texts all day and people receive them but I cannot see any responses. I am using SPB Mobile Shell 3.

After I flashed, the phone came up w/ service so I did not do 228....

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

Have you attemped a hard reset of the phone, and my storage (this removes phone programming), and then reprogramming it (*228 opt 1)

Adrynalyne, Glad you responded, have followed your work and look to use your new rom, once my move is over.

I am new at this as I've said to you before. I forget the difference between hard reset and soft reset. Again, first smart phone. I hit the buttom next to the power on button with my stylus. Then hit *228(i had forgotten about that). Once powered back up, I tryed my e-mail, Cannot connect to mail server, then I tried Opera, and I got error message, page cannot load, etc.

I'm worried that Verizon has done something to cut out my phone from accessing the net due to consumption. But, given the said "5gig" limit on verizon unlimited data plan before they do something, leaves me scrathing my head.

Fortunetly, I have not turned my modem in yet and was able to hook it up today for the COD 5 Map Pack 2 launch, thus I can answer this post tonigh. But, not tomorrow or the day after, unfortunately for the next few weeks.

You did a soft reset then and not a hard reset. A soft reset is like restarting your computer, everything is still there but nothing is sitting in memory. A hard reset is like formatting your PCs hard drive with a fresh install of an OS. It works but nothing you want is on the phone.

Do you download a lot of stuff? That would be about the only way you would hit that limit unless you are using your phone for your laptops only connection to the internet and your on it every day.

Most likely a setting has gotten messed up somehow. A hard reset would fix this because all settings would be back to factory default.

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

I suppose I can post this here:
My phones volume is/can be very low at times and sometimes I can't hear the other person. I know there is a way to make the volume adjusts even louder but how or where do I go?
