Just wanted to put in my 2 cents as another satisifed user. Installed the ROM update and now have Google Maps and Live Search working. Seems faster overall, and more responsive too. The only issue that I am having is that BeeLine GPS seems to lose its connection to the GPS regularly, but since I only use that to test the connection, and the connection works in the tools, no big deal!

Kudos to the community for getting this one cracked!

Samsung MR1 update will unlock GPS. As with other PDA's it will also unlock GPS...finally. Going forward I am not sure if there will be a lock on new devices, but if there is we might just have to wait for the update to unlock it and fix any bugs.

when is the update coming?

The commonly used date currently is May 11th. Many doubt it, but that is what people are saying right now.

Believe me....I don't think anyone (even Samsung and VZW) know for sure, I have a feeling they kinda throw a date out there and if it makes it great, if not...throw out another date!!
