Re: Custom Taskbar

tsowen, is there any chance you would make a visual voicemail notification icon now that carriers are starting to implement it? tmobile just included VVM with their release of 6.5 that will release soon & i hate the icon that it currently has.

it'd be great to have a better looking icon that i can swap it out with.

the first pic below is close to what the current notification icon looks like & the second pic is the icon for the program itself. i don't know about you, but to me they're kinda boring.

thanks

*edit* ok i pulled the actual notification icon out of the program & included it

do you have any idea why installing a custom taskbar will break leo volume control?

i made a custom rom for my TP2 cdma using the ppckitchen and i added the leo volume control. it works perfectly until i install a taskbar. as soon as i do that, the leo volume controls are gone and the standard one is back (6.5.x version of winmo). if i uninstalled the taskbar, i get the leo volume controls back.

any suggestions would be great. thanks!!

It breaks because you are overwriting HTCVolumeControl.dll with an old version that is included in your custom taskbar. The leo version is using a newer that is required for it to work (as you found out). Use restorator 2007 (30 day trial) to pull the 3 icons from the taskbar's HTCVolumeControl.dll and put them in the leo's HTCVolumeControl.dll. It's pretty simple really. You just drag and drop them.

Use the Cab2OEM.exe that I have attached (as a .zip). Extract the .zip and you can then just drag your custom taskbar cab on top of the cab2oem.exe and it will create a folder with the cab's name in the same directory as the cab (this is done on your PC). Inside the folder will be the files in the cab and you should find HTCVolumeControl.dll.

You can get the dll from the taskbar cab using the program I posted previously. You can also try to use total commander and copy the dll from \windows to \internal storage. Then try to copy the dll from internal storage to your PC. To get it back on, copy it somewhere on your phone. Navigate to that location with total commander and copy it to \windows, overwriting the one that is there. You can also edit the cab with a program like wince cab manager (think there may be a trial). This would also allow you to extract the dll from the cab, modify it, and put it back in the cab. If you have trouble, just attach your taskbar cab and tell me what version of leo htcvolumecontrol you are using (2.5.1921 or 2.5.1922, etc.). I can try to make a cab for you.

for some reason, total commander just refused to copy it. joojoobee666 gave me a copy of the dll file last nite and i used your info to do what i wanted to do. works perfectly. thanks for all your help.
