Re: Custom Taskbar

Btw, just wanted to give a bit feedback on the 6v3.2 taskbar Tsowen. If you got a colored taskbar instead of the original one (HTC Black), the stereo headset and bluetooth icon(s) will look strange, maybe because of some transparency problems?

First-time poster. First, I want to thank everyone posting here. I liked my Touch Pro before finding this thread, but now that I've edited the taskbar, I love it. I've seen this question/issue in the thread before, but I haven't seen anyone offer a resolution. If someone has, and I've missed it, sorry.

To make the Bluetooth bitmaps and the headset bitmaps display correctly in a gradient color taskbar, the associated mask bitmaps have to be edited. BT on Mode.bmp, BT Discoverable.bmp, BT Stereo headset.bmp and Stereo headset.bmp each have a mask (BT on Mode Mask.bmp, BT Discoverable Mask.bmp, BT Stereo headset Mask.bmp and Stereo headset Mask.bmp) associated with it. The mask includes only black and white - the areas that are transparent/invisible in the colored bitmap are filled with white and the areas that are visible in the colored bitmap are filled with black. Edit the colored bitmap(s), filling the transparenet areas with white and the visible areas with black, and save it/them as the mask. Replace the Mask bitmaps on the device the same way you replaced the original bitmaps with the colored bitmaps, and soft reset. After the reset, the colored bitmaps should be correctly masked even with a gradient color taskbar.

Re: Custom Taskbar

Noobie with a question.....plz help!

I'm sure the answer is contained somewhere in the last 149 pages but alas, I have yet to find it.

Here is the problem-----> Missing signal strength bars and data arrows...in place of it is a white box with a little x at the top left. If I turn data connection off, I see a blue earth symbol.

Here is what I did-------> Installed sdkcerts.cab, installed battery driver and installed Taskbar2 (from page one of this thread)

next I used total comander to rename CDMA_RSSI_PPC.ddl to the same with the .bak extention.

Then I downloaded the new CDMA_RSSI_PPC.ddl from this thread and moved it into the windows directory, soft reset, navigate back to windows and deleted the file with the .bak extention.

soft reset again and the problem is obvious. All the other icons are working fine including wi-fi symbol, missed alerts etc etc....just the signal strength/data symbol UNLESS data is off...then its a blue earth...

Anyone know what I missed/did wrong?

Thanks in advance
-Tom

Sprint TP2
I have the same problem and would appreciate some help. Thanks! Sprint TP2
EDIT: Solved the problem, I think it was caused because I didn't have a SIM card. Got one from Sprint and the icons now work.

Re: Custom Taskbar

I really like your taskbars Tsowen, but everytime I install one it breaks the single volume setting and reverts to dual volumes for both system and ring. I prefer to have the single volume, is there anything you can do or tell me to make this possible with your taskbar?

Thanks

Re: Custom Taskbar

Really? I'm surprised. These are screen shots of the taskbar on my phone before and after changing the masks:

I'm curious. Could you upload copies of you color bitmaps and masks so I can take a look at them?
