The TP2 came out on all carriers and it wasn't a year old with no indications of coming to US soil like the HD. Even HTC said it wasn't coming. And if they did mask it under a different name, you'd still be able to figure something out from the dimensions and specs. Last but not least, if they got approval and released it a month later, that would be near christmas time. With the HD2 targeting Q1 2010 it seems odd to me Sprint would pick up the HD so late. I've been drooling over the HD for quite a while. Although it's outdated, it's still better than what we can get now. It would be a nice surprise (I'm all for it) but I don't see any indications of it releasing here or anywhere this late.

I agree, it's not superior in any way (except size by a bit). Have read here or there about no official 6.5 upgrade for the HD but I could be wrong. But if that's true, there's even less of a chance for Sprint to release a year old device without 6.5.

Srpint could just get an updated version of the HD1 with WM6.5. Personally I would prefer the 3.8in and the looks of the HD1 over the Imagio.

Yeah but one of the big things with the HD2 is the fact that it's capacitive which we don't see in any CDMA WM phones yet from what I have seen. I may have seen one from Samsung but I really want a capacitive screen.

I'd prefer it too but isn't it more logical for sprint to pick up the imagio which already has 6.5 rather than getting a new phone we've heard nothing about.

Would be logical, but in this area of stiff competition Sprint could get a version of the HD1 to one up VZW.

At this point I think one upping VZW would be the HD2. They have already one upped Sprint on Android and WM. Other than for enthusiasts like us, I don't think an HD is a deal maker compared to the Imagio. 0.2" of screen isn't enough with more powerful and capable phones right around the corner.
