I say you would get better/clearer telephone performance, better battery life, and the ability to customize your device.

Re: Please dont flame I really want to know.....
It is totally a personal choice. I wouldn't get an iphone over a Pro2 if the I phone was 25.00. For me it is about the ability to do what "I" want to do with it, not what Apple says I can do with it.
I love being able to personalize and hack my phone. But that's just me.... |

Re: Please dont flame I really want to know.....
s.a.a.
It really depends what you want out of your phone. If you're just making some calls, texting & do some media, the iphone is just fine. It also has a pluthera of apps. If you need "more", customizing, keyboard, outlook & ms syncing, excell, word & powerpoint etc, than you are a good candidate for the TP2. I need the today screen of the TP2 as well, not just some screens filled with launchers. so, there you go - if you're happy with the iphone - go with it and feel the stress of all the choices just melt away. If you already really love the Trouch Pro - you will defenitely love the TP2 even more! |

Re: Please dont flame I really want to know.....
You're also making an erroneous comparison. The iPhone is only $99 after you sign up for a full contract (2 years in the US, 3 years in Canada). The Touch Pro2 is available from T-Mobile right now for only $149 thru Walmart and a few other places if you sign a 2 year contract with them.
So really the question is, would you like to spend a mere $50 more for customizability, an AWESOME keyboard, and a really good battery (esp. compared w/ the original Touch Pro)? Is it worth $50 more to me? You better believe it!! |

OP, please don't take this the wrong way as it's honestly not meant as a negative towards you personally, but to me if you're even considering an iphone then it's going to be hard for you to understand why a true PPC geeker would be willing to pay $600. It's all about the ability and freedom to customize something you pay good money for. You can pay good money for any 'i' product, but you're not going to be doing anything with it that Apple doesn't want you to (for the most part anyway).

Re: Please dont flame I really want to know.....
i'm taking a huge pass on the TP2... battery life is worse than the TP and i really cant handle that. its a lil clunky in the hand, like too thick for my taste.
maybe try the omnia2 i8000 which is just as big but thinner... do you NEED the keyboard when you have a GIGANTIC screen!? IMO the omnia was the most stable winmo device i owned, so there is no doubt in my mind the omnia2 i8000 will be an Elite winmo device
