Well, all I can say is... I traded my mogul for some injectors for my car. I don't regret it once!

Re: Is this phone worth buying for $299? (I have a mogul)
Thanks for the quick responses
I keep debating over and over, I work at Office Max and have a kid at home (so not a whole lot of extra cash laying around) I just sold my beloved Alesis Ion Synthesizer for 400$ in hopes to buy an xbox 360 finally (something me and the wife both can enjoy) and have money left over for other things.. however going the route of the TP, i would be kissing that 400$ out the door for 1 phone (and then wait for the MIR to come back only to be put on my account to cover my bill for awhile...... ) ^^;; so if I can go the route of getting TEP some how, I would in a heart beat. maybe trade someone moguls, and even include the extended battery? then activate that one and buy the protection plan? I don't know, I have a million ideas to try.. just not sure if any will work? |

Re: Is this phone worth buying for $299? (I have a mogul)
FYI, if your Mogul is truly defective, you can always go to the sprint automatic phone replacement website. Since you don't have TEP, it would cost 55 dollars, but Sprint is currently replacing broken Moguls with new in-box Touch Pros.
Make sure your phone is really broken before you do this though, because they will charge a hefty amount of cash (plus the 55 fee you pay since you dont have TEP), but you would have a fully working TP. https://indirect3.sprint.com/apps/ad...&FROM_SPRINT=Y edit: I recommend you make sure that the replacement model is a Touch Pro, or a PPC8500. Sometimes they have Moguls in stock and replace with those, but everyone I spoke to says you should try again in 10-20 min, and you will often get a TP again. I reupped for 2 more years in December and bought my Touch Pro for 299.99, if only I had waited for a month, I would have gotten it for free with TEP. Especially since my Mogul had a ton of hardware errors. I just wanted a new phone and not to mess with a mogul refurb. Last edited by frostrambler; 01-28-2009 at 02:10 AM. |

Re: Is this phone worth buying for $299? (I have a mogul)
The sticker on the battery has red dashes on it, does this mean water damage
I see if it has water damage, it will not be covered, if my sticker indicates water damage (pretty sure thats what it means) would buying a replacement sticker online fix this issue, or would they just look right around that and be able to tell by corrosion. (I bought the mogul with extended battery for 20$ used off a guy who's company switched over to at&t) and I fell this is broken, it's very very laggy, first 15 mins of use bumps it up to 92% of memory being bogged down. |

Re: Is this phone worth buying for $299? (I have a mogul)
I just used the Sprint's Self Return form on their site to send my mogul back. They were out of stock for moguls, so the site said I would get a 6850 which is the touch pro. That was Friday, today I got my touch pro. It is incredibly fast comparing to the mogul. Truly the best windows mobile device I've ever used. To me, it is head and shoulders above the mogul.
Good luck! |

also, if they say "the phone was not laggy, nor did we think the phone was broken" would they go ahead and charge me the fee, or could I just ask for my broken phone back? Also to note, I do not have the standard battery that came with the phone; When I bought the phone it came with an extended battery... will they require me to find a standard one? |
