Re: XV6800/Titan still the phone or has its time come? What Should I Do?
Have you looked at the Omnia? I just got mine for $100 from VZW but I will not be keeping it. I have played with them in the store and IMO they are much more nice than the TP (minus the KB).

Re: XV6800/Titan still the phone or has its time come? What Should I Do?
Its along story but basically VZW for me is decent. There arent the cheapest but with my Corp discount of 20% its ok. Im up for my New Every Two deal and here is how I see it. Ive dumped a ton of money in thier hand over the last 2 years and so I should get some back. So I did a new 2yr contract and got the Omnia for $100. I will take it and sell it on ebay BNIB and never opened. Ive been watching them and they are selling for around $400 (+/-). So I will clear $300 or so. Then in a month or so I will file a claim with Asurion for my "broken" 6800 and get a TP. If they ask about the Omnia I will say I gave it to someone in my fam because I didnt like it and kept my 6800. They dont care as long as the contract is in place. Getting a TP with VZW isnt worth the 2yr contract itself AND having to pay the $250. But if I can get one for $50 through Asurion then that better. I just got it last summer BNIB and I do have sticky keys sometimes. It still has a full 12 months warranty anyway.

Omnia is great although I haven't seen anyone with it. It's all iPhones in my school. I've only seen one person with XV6900.
I just spoke with my dad he said he bought a Treo off ebay and was able to call Verizon and get a replacement Treo shipped to him. That's interesting. |

The other is that if you are really worried about something happening to your phone, a viable option is to have it insured independently. My phone (it's covered under personal property) is insured for $500 (I have a TP) with no deductible and it is $45 a year. It is covered for theft and accidental destruction (note: minor scratches and such are not covered). Of course, they also insure my car and condo, so I might be getting a good deal, I'm not sure. It's State Farm if you were wondering. Hope this helps. |

Re: XV6800/Titan still the phone or has its time come? What Should I Do?
that helps a lot. I think I already made up my mind. I will probably hold on to this phone for a year, and sell it hopefully for $100 towards a better phone.
yea i realize the newer PDA OS don't have much software support as of now. I will wait on webOS. I really need to get better insurance. Got into a car accident on Monday thinking I was king of snow driving until the ice owned me. So sad. I will definitely look into that when I try to get new insurance. I heard State Farm was pricey though. Now i just have to get a replacement through the seller from Asurion I hope that won't get too complicated. Thanks Everyone! |
