Re: Why is everyone leaving the diamond???
Well said big guy. But some of us like the keyboard. I can play guitar and type with my HTC Pro at the same time. Sometimes I even type with my toes. Although the diamond is sleek and sexy and everything nice.

I don't think he was flaming. He knew Mike didn't accept donations and was just pointing out that Mike was being fair. Although I still would put in 5 bucks for the huge upgrade to my phone

Re: Why is everyone leaving the diamond???
I would have gone for the Touch Pro if it wasn't for the fact that it's back-ordered all to hell (I'm with Sprint.)
I honestly did not expect that the Pro would be so sold out. When I went in to redeem my upgrade, they said there was a waiting list of over 400 in-store, and Telesales (order by phone) had a queue of over 300. So I got the Diamond as a fallback because I really needed a new phone. I've had it for just over a week now and I gotta say that I do indeed like it a lot. Can't say that I'd 100% prefer it to the Pro, but it's definitely a great device. Also, the soft-keyboard is pretty spectacular for full QWERTY once you calibrate the screen to your thumb. I already type much faster than I could with my old flip-phone. So, I'm not sure exactly where I'm going with this, but suffice to say that I like both, and the Diamond is shining quite brightly for me. |

Re: Why is everyone leaving the diamond???
The screens on both phones are resistive (capacitive would be awesome, though) and are the same size.
Both screens are full VGA (640x480).

Re: Why is everyone leaving the diamond???
Of course the best feature of the Pro is the video out.........
I use that to hook my Sling Mobile setup to the 7" NAV screeen in my truck & to hook Sling or movies from the card to the TV in a hotel room.. ~John |

Re: Why is everyone leaving the diamond???
Ahh... My bad, sorry about that. I like the Pre, but I don't like how they rounded off the corners of the visible portion of the screen. Seems like they're losing viewing area by taking the route of those old-timey TVs:

Re: Why is everyone leaving the diamond???
I loved the keyboard on my 6700, but I choose the Touch over the Mogul when I got to trade it in and I did the same with the Diamond and Pro.
I can't go back to a thick *** phone that I either have to look like an IT dork wearing it on my side or have it bulging in my pocket. I found myself with my 6700 actually sometimes going "bah, I'm just running to the store...I don't want to lug that around". Where as with my Diamond its never off me, and often times I forget its even in my pocket till I need it. The size alone is what makes the Diamond leaps and bounds better than a PDA phone than the Pro for me. Maybe if I needed my smartphone to be a laptop replacement i'd go the other way, but that's not what I need. |
