Another Titan to Touch Pro thread... Should I go for this? (long)

I don't see myself leaving Sprint any time soon, but I enjoy being out of contract. What do you think, fellow geeks? (me - normal txt, sprint bold/italic) I just missed their call to try to haggle on renewal!

________

I'm having multiple issues with Sprint. I used Sprint TVonce during the Jul-Aug cycle, unsubscribed from it on my phone, but keep
on getting billed for it every month. Calls to CSRs take an hour (sometimes my call drops and I have to call back again) because they keep
telling me to go to the Content Manager on sprint.com which is incompatible with the Mogul. After an hour of trying to convince them, they finally realize I am right and give me a credit, but are unable to stop the recurring charge, so I have to call again. This coupled with the fact
that every Mogul I've had has white spots on the screen after less than a month, I can't set my email accounts to < 15 mins because the phone rings once and goes to VM, constant Bluetooth drops, and no MMS makes me very frustrated. Please remove the recurring charge and give me a reasonable non-contract renewing option to upgrade to a phone without these issued like the Touch Pro.
_____________

Thank you for contacting Sprint and bringing your concern about the HTC Mogul phone and Sprint Multimedia TV charges.

I apologize for the troubles you have faced due to this situation. Unfortunately, the Sprint Multimedia TV have not been unsubscribed yet from my content section of your online account. This was why; these are are being billed each month. I have applied a credit of $7.95 against
the charges + taxes on your account. This credit will be reflected on your next month invoice.

Since you are unable to unsubscribe from it, I have forwarded this issue to our technical support department. This will assist you in this
matter within the next 24 to 48 hours.

The Total Equipment Protection Plan (insurance) is active on your account. You can get a replacement handset by calling our insurance
department, Asurion at 1-800-584-3666.

Asurion agent hours of operation are:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. (Central Time)
Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. (Central Time)

Your account is also eligible for upgrade your phone at the price listed on the website. So, you can upgrade your phone to a new one. Unfortunately, a new two year subscriber agreement is required for handset upgrade. In the absence of the handset upgrade, rebates are
not provided.

To check this offer, please visit a Sprint Store near you. You can locate your nearest Sprint Store location by clicking on the
following hyperlink: http://www.sprintstorelocator.com

We appreciate your patience and look forward to serve you in the future. Have a great day!

__________
I have already gotten three phones from Asurion, besides the original one I had. All of them had white spots. All of them have had bluetooth
drop at random times. 2 out of the 4 have had issues with setting the frequency of email lower than 15 minutes and not being able to receive
calls. This happened even when updating the ROM to the newest versions. None of them are able to send MMS messages, even though that
was advertised as one of the features when I bought the phone. Emailing pictures is not MMS. The issues above are not happening
because of something I did. This is happening with the phone in general. I paid too much for a phone that isn't doing what is supposed
to do. I don't think it is unreasonable to want a different phone if mine is having issued that haven't seemed to have fixed themselves
over the span of me having 4 of them.
___________________

Dear akastixx,

Thank you for writing back. I am sorry for the inconvenience due to the phone issues.

MMS is a phone feature. It can not be added or removed by us. So, if the phone is compatible to use the phone for MMS, this feature can be
used. You can upgrade the phone, as you have already got the phone replaced from Asurion. You can purchase any phone with a rebate of
$150.00. Please visit the nearest Sprint store to purchase the new phone. To locate the nearest store, just click this hyperlink:
http://www.sprintstorelocator.com/

Thank you again for contacting Sprint. We appreciate your business.

______________
You are skirting the issue. MMS is totally compatible with the phone, and was advertised as a feature at the time of purchase, but Sprint decided they would cripple the phone to not naively use the service without 3rd party work-arounds. They no longer advertise this as a feature.

All four of my Mogul phones (3 replaced by Asurion) have had white spots on the LCD screen after less than a month of use. 2 out of the 4 have had issues with setting the frequency of email lower than 15 minutes and not being able to receive calls. What's the purpose of having a business phone if I can't quickly respond to clients? All of them have had bluetooth drop at random times - not like once in a blue moon random, but if I were to use my phone for 5-6 hours in the same day, just for calls and Windows Media Player, the bluetooth will cut out enough times to make it where I hardly use it anymore, and this is with more than one headset, which work without these problems on other phones. I need a phone that works well for the price I paid for it. This phone does not work well. If it did, I would have no problem going through a new two-year agreement and upgrading the phone as an option, but this phone has been giving me problems from the start. Additionally, if Sprint had a better or even existent CSR/Tech Support knowledge base, my Sprint TV/Content Manager/Billing problem would have been fixed months ago. After doing a ton of searching on websites, I have found that the problem is attributed to a bug where Windows Mobile 6.1, the Sprint Mogul, and sprint.com's Content Manager don't work well. I need someone on your end to switch the ESN on my account to one of their non-PDA Sprint TV enabled test phones, unsubscribe from the service on sprint.com and then switch the ESN back to my phone. Sprint has already wasted enough of their and my time by giving me incorrect information, so "Go to your nearest store to fix that problem" is not acceptable. None of the issues in this paragraph were addressed in the email that you just sent. I am not asking for a free upgrade for a phone that works right. I am not even asking for a free upgrade. I am asking for a phone that works and addressed the above issues. Getting another Mogul from Asurion will not address these issues, as they continue to occur. Renewing my contract for service that I have to call repeatedly to get the same issue worked out does not make sense to me. I paid alot of money for this phone. All I am asking for is not to have to go through the whole mail-in/renewal process for a phone that has numerous problems through no fault of my own. The Touch Pro is 579 right now. The Mogul is 549 right now. I would like to send you this phone back and get a phone that resolves these issues for the 300 upgrade without a mail-in rebate or renewal.

______________
[[[where i may have screwed myself... i really did hit the button early.]]]
______________

In my last email, I meant:

The Touch Pro is 579 right now. The Mogul is 549 right now. I would like to send you this phone back and pay 150 for toe Touch Pro without
a mail-in rebate or renewal or get a phone that resolves these issues (Touch Pro) for the 300 upgrade without a mail-in rebate or renewal.

Instead of:

The Touch Pro is 579 right now. The Mogul is 549 right now. I would like to send you this phone back and get a phone that resolves these
issues for the 300 upgrade without a mail-in rebate or renewal.

I hit the send button on accident.
________

Dear akastixx,

Thank you for contacting Sprint. I understand your frustration due the Sprint HTC Mogul issues and appreciate the opportunity to resolve your
issue.

Your account is currently eligible for the maximum rebate on handset upgrade. Therefore, you can certainly buy the new HTC Touch Pro at the
online price of $299.99.

Considering the inconvenience caused to you due to the defective HTC Mogul, I have decided to apply the $100.00 mail-in rebate from our end.
Thus, the Sprint HTC Touch Pro will be charged at the reduced price of $299.99.

Also, you need not have to apply for mail-in rebate neither you need to return the HTC Mogul to us.

However, your contract will renew for two another years as this is the basic requirement to avail the handset upgrade rebate.

Please write back to us if you want to upgrade your HTC Mogul to Sprint HTC Touch Pro at $299.99 with the two years contract renewal. We will
send the HTC Touch Pro from our end.

Thank you again for contacting Sprint. We appreciate your business.

Re: Another Titan to Touch Pro thread... Should I go for this? (long)

I've played this game before, as many others have. As of recently, I haven't heard of anyone getting any type of compensation for their Mogul issues, regardless of how outrageous they are. I think we missed a small oppurtinity gap where it seemed like they were giving them away.

However, keep trying I guess, I know I am. I'm still trying to get my TP for something less than an upgrade. I've experienced similar issues as you, and am on my 3rd. Good luck

dude you are not going to get a free tp. They may offer you special deal but not free.

I was in same boat. I sold my old mogul on craiglist (local) which was almost brand new had few problem but loved that mogul so I add that money toward my TP. I suggest you do that.

Re: Another Titan to Touch Pro thread... Should I go for this? (long)

this is not a good deal considering you have to send back your mogul in order to not have to mail in the rebate. not to mention having to resign an agreement. sounds as though all they are doing is getting you to send back your mogul so they can have one more refurb to send out without giving you any compensation for it, while giving you the phone for what you would get it for anyway. if i were you i would try for a better deal through another channel. if i am understanding this right this deals sounds like they are going to srew you again on the phone you already paid for. Furiousgtz is right . sell your mogul and by they tp if you son't get a better deal

Do you have TEP or just ERP?

If you have TEP, start zapping your Mogul in the microwave for about 3 seconds once a month (make sure you take the battery out first!). Take it to the store, and make up some BS about how it just stopped working. Keep doing this until they run out of Moguls and have to upgrade you.

Yeah! Woo! Fraud. Seriously, I have issues with my Titan, but still I'm not gonna break it on purpose. I had an Apache and that broke (screen cracked) and I was covered under ERP and got my Titan. I'll probably stick with my Titan until it breaks and then I'll go with a replacement Titan (unless it is messed up) or a Touch Pro. But hey, purposely breaking a phone to get a new one is just messed up. That costs the company money... money they may not have, so they can justify this or that rate increase. Plus this calls ethics into play... but I think I'll stop with my rant here.

/Sorry about jumping off topic a bit.

Also, I've gotta say that my Titan has a few problems, but overall, I dig it. It is far superior to the Apache.

I don't want a free TP! Read the post. I don't and have never wanted SERO or some other discount. I have 450/net/TEP/Roadside for $80.

I want to pay 200, send my Mogul back, and I don't want to renew, considering I've had this billing issue plus other ones that were at least resolved on the 1st call. At the VERY least, I want them to unsubscribe me from Sprint TV, which they have still yet to do. The issues I have had have happened. I have TEP, but I am not going to mess up a phone on purpose just to get a phone that may be potentially worse. I have only had this one for a couple of months after having to get an exchange for my last one where the hardware buttons just stopped working.

Maybe if they got a better knowledge base, worked with HTC on better build quality phones, and improve their customer service, they'd be in a better position.

I dig them both, but neither my G1000 nor my two Apaches did not have the issues my Titans have, and I did not finagle anyone to make the switch. I sold my Apache to my brother, went back to my G1000 for a little while, bought another Apache, eventually bought my Titan and gave the 2nd Apache to my father.

I'm thinking about it. I can't see myself gouging when the phone has the issues it has. Maybe I'll sell it to someone who doesn't use most of the features.

Wow. In the meantime they have asked me to try content manager and unsubscribing on my phone again in two separate emails after I told them neither removes the charge... and they won't budge on the phone either. I had to resort to some CAPS in places to get them to have someone finally take care of the Sprint TV issue (they are "working" on it.) I would have done better to have gone to a store and just have someone there do it for me (ESN swap/unsubscribe/ESN Swap).
