Anyone have an iPhone or come from one?

I get the impression that the iPhone was made for simpletons who want to appear 1337 without actually having to learn anything or think. No offense to anyone who has one, but that's just the impression *I* get. Kudos to Jobs for cornering a market niche.

I personally LIKE how WinMo requires some techiness to use, I find that it keeps snoopers out of my phone. People will ask to see my Mogul, begin messing with it, and become completely lost within 30 seconds. They hand it back to me with a defeated expression and that just warms my cold little heart =D

Then top it off and ask them what they were trying to do and accomplish it in half a second.

All devices have their pros and cons. No reason to bash one or the other and especially no reason to bash anyone's opinion. There is no such thing as a perfect device and there is absolutely no way to appease everyone because we all have our own opinions and wants. The beautiful thing about smartphone OS's (iPhone, Blackberry, Windows, Symbian, Android) is that somewhere someone smarter than me is writing a program to remove a limitation that I have learned to live with or didn't even realize it had

That is my whole point in here. If U read the first few post, Iphone cannot do this, cannot do that. I simply told everyone what else Iphone can do.

Like I said, I am still a WM poweruser. I love both this device and I am not into war between the too. I gain adcantage by knowing both devices.

I am a Windows MCSE and also solid with Linux. This confuses both sides, as most admins only know one or the other. I also have Mac and PC and like them both.

I agree. For me, if U only love 1 device, U got all the right. But bashing the other is not necessary.

What video file formats does the iphone support out of the box? Would I need to jailbreak the phone to play a 700mb avi file or would I still need to convert it? Also, can you just drag and drop items into the iphone like a storage device?

Everything is done with itunes. any files format can be converted to be played back using itunes or any 3rd party proggy.

I considered the original iphone, but what killed it for me was the fact that sling mobile wouldn't work on it.

I use SM a LOT, I get 200 channels including HBO on demand etc & no other mobile live TV app even comes close to SM (including ORB, I tried that extensively before I bought the SlingBox)
