Re: what made you choose the Touch Diamond over the Pro

Pro = FAT
I started my WinMo adventure with a Moto Q and then upgraded to a Vogue, both super skinny. The width was the original reason to buy when I got my Q, so I really wouldn't want to go to something as thick as a Pro. I like the Diamond's onscreen keyboard and 4GB is lots of room for me.
Myke...

Re: what made you choose the Touch Diamond over the Pro

And, WRT to the original topic:

I chose the Diamond over the Pro because it's first out of the gate.

I'll keep it instead of the Pro because:
- size (thin)
- don't like the chrome on the Pro (I can paint or buy replacement black backs for either eventually, but just don't like the chrome)
- don't do a lot of emails. do moderate texting. fast enough with soft keyboards. would like keyboard - but not the thickness that obviously comes with it.

I'd like the larger ROM of the Pro, but with kitchens, don't need it.

I'd like the SD card of the Pro, but never put more than 2gb on the 8gb card in my Touch.

Yeah, I would too. It only makes good business sense and ensures more sales on phones.

Wow, I thought I was bad. Do you have a generator in your backseat to charge your stuff on the go? Clearly the alternator in your car wouldn't be enough.

My thoughts exactly. If you bought the phone knowing that you are going to return it, then that is shady.

Ouch, you sure like to twist the blade don't ya? LOL Luckily for me I haven't bought my diamond yet, because next month is when I'm elligable for an upgrade. So this gives me time to buy either the diamond or pro. PLUS I work for the Academy of Art University and I was told that we possibly have a discount with Sprint so I submitted to the EVP online website.

WOOTY McWOOT!

Its too fat! Really thats the only reason... I keep it in my pocket and the touch pro really needs to be worn on the waist (something I am just not willing to do...)

Plus truth is the amount of typing I do... diamond works fine!

Trust me.. try it. I wanted the pro too..
Ditto, thats the only reason I wont be exchanging for the pro, there were times I left my mogul home on the counter solely because I just didn't feel like carrying that brick around

Re: what made you choose the Touch Diamond over the Pro

For me, I figured out that I could sell my Mogul now (which drove me insane) and use Cashback MS Live Search and eBay to get 30% off of the Diamond. ...basically, an even exchange (since Sprint wasn't being so gracious).

I really did hate the Mogul, it felt like a beta test rather than a retail release. I figured that I could live without the keyboard and thickness. Everyone was giving the Diamond great feedback and there's been little negative feedback on it. All of that and figuring that the Mogul would depreciate around $100+ after the Pro came out made me jump on the Diamond. I'm glad that I did, I really like this phone.

Re: what made you choose the Touch Diamond over the Pro

Before I got it, the thought was that I'd useit as a phone and tether it to an iPod touch. After getting it and using it, the iPod Touch seemed too redundant to buy and carry around.

Some things the ipod Touch does better, some things the Diamond trounces it. Overall, the Diamond is a lot more than I expected. After giving up wanting the ipod, I thought I might want to trade the Diamond for a Pro. I'm pretty good at typing on it, now, so a slide out keyboard is extra weight. The physical keyboard wouldn't be much easier to use. The only real benefit would be the screen real estate that's taken up when using the virtual keyboard. That's not enough to make me switch, though.

Re: what made you choose the Touch Diamond over the Pro

For me, I really wanted something much thinner than the mogul. I hated having a huge brick in my pocket(im sorry, i just dont do the belt case). At first, i was thinking i might switch to the pro if i was dissatisfied, but after the 3 weeks i have had with the phone i love it, i have no issue with texting T9 with the compact qwert keyboard, and its very easy to use with one hand. The best part is the size, funtionality, and the 4GB storage is nice also. Once you get a nice juicy rom on there it makes it so much better to use also.
