You must be a lucky person not to have issues with HTC. Check out the TP1/TP2 forums and read all the complains. Its not just the bad quality they have, its the outdated hardware they use. Like the jump from TP1 to TP2, they pretty much used all the same internals (processor, ram, etc) and just slapped on a bigger screen, keyboard and removed the flash. A whole year later and that's the best they can do is put a bigger screen? What a ripoff. They should've put a snapdragon but they were too cheap and milked its customers. Thats when I quit and went to iphone, I wasn't gonna let them play me like that and give me outdated junk.
I actually really like the 4.3" screen and find it to be about the "perfect" size screen for me, though I don't think I could go much bigger. When you overlay an EVO and an iPhone the dimensions are surprisingly close considering the much larger screen of the EVO.

Good point, I didn't consider factors outside of build quality, though I do believe the TP2 had a slightly different processor (supposedly better for video playback or something along those lines).

I had a touch pro and a touch pro 2 and I was extremely happy with both. No real issues outside of my own mistakes.

Re: Prize fight Iphone 4 vs htc EVO

Rather then makign accessories for multiple devices..I think more need to add DLNA to their phones....this way you can have seamless communication...

I mean imagine going into a hotel room..pressing 1 button on your phone and the entire room adjusts to your preference...all your favorite TV channels are preprogrammed(and adjusted)..alarm clock plays your favorite song/radio station...

sets the temperature to how you like it..the coffee maker automatically blends the coffee at the time you wake up :P

The entire room, the car and everything else should be wirelessly controlled by my cellphone...

Thats what I think all manufacturers and in general should be aiming for >.>

I mean we are in the year 2010 and not 1990s correct?

Re: Prize fight Iphone 4 vs htc EVO

i have an iPad, so i can appreciate how smooth iOS is, but I still wouldn't want an iPhone. Android is the best median between WinMo and iOS and that seems to be perfect for me. What I love about the EVO is the screen size... absolutely amazing. Retina display is sweet and I can't wait for a 4.3" Android to sport something comparable like a super amoled display, but until that happens I'll take the much larger screen over smaller/prettier screen any day. For those that jumped from the Touch Pro to the Touch Pro2, you should know what I'm talking about when I say size makes a difference.

BTW, technobuffalo also gave the nod to EVO over iPhone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULv-0xcciFE and that's coming from an iPhone user.

Re: Prize fight Iphone 4 vs htc EVO

This thread was extremely helpful.. yet I am still stuck between both phones!!

I currently am on Sprint rocking my Diamond.. but am off contract. Have been debating whether to stick with Sprint's network and get the Evo or switch to At&t and get the new iphone. There are so many positives to both phones, its difficult to choose.

On one side, I want to be able to stream pandora/iheartradio all day at work, which I cannot do with At&t and the iphone. But on the otherhand, the iphone has a superior camera (IMO), flawless OS, gyroscope, and amazing games/screen (words with friends !! ) and a much better battery life!

On the other hand, android has much better multitasking, turn by turn navigation, voice to text, widgets, unlimited data, and the ability to customize the phone...

Also not sure how many people say Sprints network is better than at&t.. I suppose it depends on where you live, but my Sprint network gets terrible service and many phone calls don't even come through.

So as you can see, I am still stuck in between the two and cannot make a decision! I am not sure if I will ever know which one to get..

Re: Prize fight Iphone 4 vs htc EVO

A few things:

1) Who has better coverage in your area? Where I am Sprint is fantastic, I never drop calls but I have friends on AT&T that I can never get a hold of because calls aren't coming through or they get dropped (or maybe they just dont want to talk to me ). However, when I was in a different part of the country in November (Ft Worth area) AT&T seemed to have better coverage than Sprint in some remote locations. Coverage is definitely a large consideration for me, and the cost of the monthly bill.

2) Get an EVO on Sprint's 30 day trial deal and do the same on AT&T if they offer something similar. Take em both for a test drive, then make your decision.

Go for the Sprint Epic 4G or AT&T Captivate..its the best of both worlds...

Re: Prize fight Iphone 4 vs htc EVO

This is an easy fight though....Evo vs Iphone 4....consumer reports writes don't buy the Iphone4....antenna issue and also screen discoloration reports by users....
