Re: Switching from TP2 to EVO

Man you guys are great! Thanks for all the input! Unfortunately though, it doesnt look like I can get my hands on an EVO just yet. All the stores around me are sold-out and we all know Sprint is out of them too. That EPIC looks real nice too...Sprint has really dropped the ball on this one, again. The only thing thats keeping me with them is that I cant afford to break their contract and get the termination fee. Otherwise, I would switch to Verizon.

Re: Switching from TP2 to EVO

This is from a former TP2 person who switched to Android. This is my take:

--if you're used to WM UI, the Android UI is easier but only after you get used to it.
--If you're used to getting applications from commercial companies offering trials. Not so much from the Android world.
--If you're looking for a single PIM (not like the one that claims to be free but charges $40 for the application to actually sync data), good luck with that.
--If you want to use the calendar to set up customized repeats (such as every other week or every few days rather than daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) on your device even though you can set that up in Google Calendar, you won't be able to do that on your device.

Re: Switching from TP2 to EVO

I say wait it out for a better phone.

And Verizon is evil. My friend is trying desparately to get out of contract with them because shes had so many issues with her Eris and their customer service is horrible. But hey if that's what you want, pay the fee and have fun!

Re: Switching from TP2 to EVO

I put the company name in with the person's name. That way you can find everything fun. Also, the Bluetooth implementation lacks the versatility that I enjoy with the TP2.

Re: Switching from TP2 to EVO

I couldn't agree more Clem2, but if I posted that I would have been crucified here. You're going to get some responses of "but you can get an app to do x, y, z". I don't want to buy apps just for basic functionality I'm used to with the TP2.

But great post. I hope the Evo-fanboys don't jump all over it.

Re: Switching from TP2 to EVO

Same here TP2 switch to Evo the hard part is getting us to the OS. It so different from WM. But at the same time it rocks. Now you dont have to feel left out about the Dev not make app for the WM. I'm a lover of the phy kb but im getting use to the SWKB.

Sorry i know is off topic but how much did you get for the TP2.

Dont forget to complain to the FCC about the "Premium Data"

I had it sold on Ebay for 350. Its brand new in the box. Still has the plastic on the screen. But the payment never came through after the person "purchased" it. I'm gonna put it back up.
