I smell another plan add-on for 2011. video calling over cell network: $20 with 2.5GB cap $40 for unlimited...that's on top of what att already rapes their users..lol..

Photo A = iPhone 3gs Photo B = EVO Obviously beats the crap out of 3GS camera. The iPhone 4 camera and resolution looks pretty slick. I'll do a full compare of EVO vs. IP4 when I get my hands on it. |

Re: Is the Evo better than the IPhone?
I think the video chat question is also tied with the capability to chat with others on other os platforms, and other types of phones.
Would suck if you can't chat with someone on an iphone 4. it means your video chat circle is limited only to evo 4g people. So the question is (and I don't have an iphone), is there a fring app, and does it support video chat on the iPhone. If it does, great for all parties involved, better for EVO owners since we can go beyond wifi. otherwise video calling circle will be bigger for the iphone than the evo. |

Re: Is the Evo better than the IPhone?
Of course I don't yet have an iPhone 4 to do a head to head comparison, but a few things that sound intriguing when compared to my EVO 4G.
1) 720p at 30fps. 22fps video on the EVO is annoying. Also, we will have to wait to see the level of compression, but the EVO's compression is disappointing. Not only does it produce less than desirable results, but larger than expected (for the quality) file sizes. 2) Battery life. Of course, everyone makes claims, but if the claims are at least 50% true, wow. 3) Thin (2/3rds the thickness of the EVO.) 4) Screen (other than physical size). Need to see it in person, but it sounds spectacular. 5) 802.11n. Not for the speed, but so that I can switch my home network to 802.11n only (turn off backward compatibility.) Of course the flip side: 1) I'm not an Apple fan (too much control.) 2) AT&T wireless network (getting better but not there yet.) 3) 3.5" screen. I'm not comfortable with 4.3" yet, but something between (say 3.7 or 4.0) would have been nice. 4) Although I've had mixed results on the HDMI out of my EVO, I did not hear if the iPhone had video out. If not, that would be a con. |

Re: EVO Battery vs. Competition
The EVO is the best camera phone I've ever had, I'll leave it at that.
