I think the facetime and new back camera are probably better but not much else. Apple is really good about having things work just about perfectly.

UUUUHHH no! Did you see the part about their video call only working over wifi? This means we can use fring over 3g 4g wifi whatever not them. THey do have better screen resolution but a smaller screen. Still no real multitasking. And STILL stuck on ATT who just downgraded their data to 2gig at the max no unlimited at all. WE are doing better at Sprint even with the extra 10 fee.

I fully agree. There may be some things that "may" be comparable, but the Evo still definately surpasses the iPhone.

I actually think so. But demo's under ideal conditions do not beat real world tests. As you saw, you cannot make a video call without being connected to wifi so that is one downfall. Currently we can make this happen with ease.

Also when the wifi was crowded the stream was choppy and Job's was consistently telling them to log off the wifi network so the demo could run smooth. This will not be the case when you dont want to leave Starbuck's because your video call will be dropped.

Great software though. I would love to see a port of this on Android. Can we get some iMovie?... lol.

The Software for video chat is a clear win! The phone itself not necessarily the Evo still wins hardware wise.

I'd love a smooth video call experience like that on my Evo thats integrated into the normal calling feature. Not this hot mess that is Qik for Evo 4G. They have the nerve to charge for this its choppy and too complicated. Yeah I get it, but the average user shouldn't have to jump through hoops. Apple got it right call, then push the video icon, done! Yeah the Wifi limitation sucks but it shouldn't be too hard to transition that to mobile coverage; the software is together. HTC/Sprint/ Google pay attention please get video software that is integrated into the OS at a deeper level..... 2.2 updated Evo feature?

there was a smart thing here done by steve.
he waited ubtil EVO comes out... and than put up iphone 4 to steal the show away from the EVO.
although the EVO is for sure better then iphone 4... the iphone is now taking away all the headlines away from the EVO.
but thats why we are phone geekers... we know the diff between headlines and the truth.

love hearing the experiences of actual evo users, I'm still up in the air on whether to get it or wait it out for w7 phone.

anybody done an evo to evo video call yet?
how you like it? any stuttering video in 3G/4G/ or wifi?
