I have a GPS already (Nuvi 260) why would I use GPS on a small phone? I also still have my Mogul and the update sure doesn't change the size of the phone and the crappy memory it has.

All of this back and forth stuff between mogul and touch users are silly and it doesn't help the OP or others on the fence like him make a decision. This thread has gotten so out of control I doubt if OP still even reads this thread anymore.
However, if you are still interested, I would just like to bring up some points that may niot be emphasized alot. I have owned a mogul for about 4 months and have loved it but recently decided to get a touch (still have the mogul). First, what got me to get the touch was the form factor...omg amazing. even iPhone owners will drool over this design..You have to hold one in your hand to believe (hopefully you can hold one in your hand without a security wire attached to it at a store). Snall, light, perfect. I hardly used wifi and hardly used my KB so i figured there is not much to be missed. However, ther are some downsides to Touch especially if you are a long term mogul user and are used to certain things: First, the screen on the touch is average to below average. What i mean is the viewing angles are horrible and can almost give you a headache looking at it. This is made even worse on landscape..esp when watching Sprint TV or a video in full screen. The mogul is amazing compared to the touch although not as good as iPhone. Second, the glass over the screen is nice but it decrease the touch sensitivity and accuracy, even with a stylus. After a while it drive ya nuts! I haven't made that many calls yet, but I think reception is not as good as Mogul...but again not enough time spent and too many variables to say for now. Finally, after customizing the mogul a certain way, I really miss the lack of hard buttons of the Touch. TouchFlo is cool but not very useful IMHO and doesn't really makeup the lack of hard buttons. These are things that are minor but over time I can see driving me nuts. Perhaps if I didn't own a Mogul before it wouldn't bother me, but it does. I am keeping both for now. |

I have the mogul, and deeply researched the touch before i made my purchase. I have oversized fingers, thus the lack of tactile response was a deal breaker for me. Both phones run from EV-DO, but only the mogul has wi-fi. I do like how fast the touch is, as well as it's very responsive touch screen. But what's the point of having a PPC if you're not gonna type. On the mogul typing is much faster, but the Qwerty board makes it the size of a house. The touch however is unremarkably small and makes for good presentability. It's also quite sleek. but it's the long term functionality that bought me.
As far as windows mobile goes, it's pretty much the same phone. and there are more updates (that i've seen) for the mogul. HTC is working on a processor speeder-up-thingie for all HTC models, so don't worry about the lag in the mogul rotation speed. In all, the touch has a truely amazing screen compared to the mogul. but mogul is alot more friendly to handle (if you know what you're doing) Happy hunting. PS i believe verizon is coming out with the Touch Dual. (it's a touch with a vert slide out keypad.) |
