Re: swap phones under insurance
I switch phone on my 2 lines all the time.. (ok the 2nd line more than the 1st...)
I only have insurance on the 1st line, but every time I swap phones on the 2nd the next bill has a little blurb about having until xx date to sign up for TEP. basically as long as the phone hasn't been flagged for damage/loss/theft, then you can add TEP within 30 days of its activation.. and if TEP is already on the line, it should just stay there.... you may want to double check after 24hrs, to make sure though.

Re: swap phones under insurance
Thanks but, that SHOULD is what I have a concern over. I'm looking for either a "will" or a "won't".

Re: swap phones under insurance
every time I have done it, TEP DOES stay on the line.... but you know how these computer systems are... one programmer typo and you get caught in a glitch.. this is why I said to double check....
also even if it does fall off the line,, you have 30 days to add it back on, as long as it is NOT flagged for damage/theft. |

Re: swap phones under insurance
I've always wondered the same thing about buying a used phone and getting insurance on there. I asked them about adding it to my Mogul after a few months of ownership and they told me previously you only had 30 days to activate it. I would imagine they are cautious about adding onto a phone not sold by them because you could just buy a 50$ "broken" phone on ebay and then get insurance replacement. I'm just guessing here but you know some people would abuse it.

Re: swap phones under insurance
I have actually had them cover a phone that I purchased on eBay (much to my suprise). I bought a PPC6700 on eBay and about a month after I had it I started having problems. I took to my local store, completely expecting to pay for the repairs and they said that it could not be fixed the would just replace it. To my surprise they gave me a Mogul (refurb of course) with no out of pocket expense. I didn't have to pull anything fancy, I didn't have to lie to them. I was honest about where I got the phone and the issues. That maybe a unique situation. But I think they will cover it as long as you have the insurance.
Hope it helps. |

Re: swap phones under insurance
Long as you have insurance on your plan. You are paying the $7 a month. Whatever phone is active on your line at that time is covered under TEP. So say you use a Mogul during the week and a A900 on the weekends. You break the A900 you can use your TEP on it. You break your Mogul during the week, you can use your TEP on that.
