Just a thought...

My buddy just got an 800w. Beautiful phone. Same battery problem....

On my PPC-6700, my Mogul, and my Touch, I had to turn off the "Beam" setting. This is in Start - Settings - Connections - Beam then uncheck "receive all incoming beams"

For some reason, this settings tends to make mince meat of the battery. This is true of all 3 WM phones I've had the pleasure of working with.

so as i previously stated i had battery problems also...but i realized there was some kind of battery leak/drain from all the CRAP that i had installed. i seriously tried installing so much stuff on this thing and a lot of things, such as home screen applications didnt work. i hard reset my device today about 6 hours ago and just loaded my contacts and a couple apps like opera 9.5. the battery went down less then 10% in 5 hours...this of course is great. it seems like some app out there drained my battery....just my 2 cents

Excellent! Thank you! Yep... the default for "Receive all incoming beams" is "On". Just unchecked it... let's wait a few hours and see what we can see. I appreciate your help!

ohhh, that's gonna make a difference. i'll have to tweak that on the wife's when i get home.

YEP! That did the trick. Unbelievable that such a simple thing would make such a big difference in the drainage. I've been using the phone all day... texts, phone calls, surfing the net, checking email... still have 72% battery life left, and it's 3:38pm local time. I took it off the charger at 7:30am, this morning. Great! Thanks a lot!

I am glad I swapped phones, though... the other 800w was very unreliable with the GPS signal and Internet connection. This one is reliable and FAST FAST FAST!!! The device is very responsive. No lag time between button clicks. Apps pop up and dissapear as soon as I touch the button.

Also, the first 800w had a popping sound when using the stereo headphone that came with it. This one sounds flawless. Loud and clear.

Its nice having a cutting edge device isn't it. I am relay liking the the screen resolution I thought it would be hard to read with my old eyes but I am surprised by how much easier things are to see. Well welcome to the club, I am glad you like your new Treo.
