Google SMS & Yahoo SMS working now too due to Palm SMS P

Just to let you guys know, text messages to GOOGLE SMS (text #: '46645' or GOOGL [GOOGLE without the E if looking at a dial pad with corresponding letters]) and YAHOO SMS (text #: '92466' [YAHOO on dial pad]) were also affected by the SMS binary format issue.

Without the patch, Google SMS would receive the text message as binary format but not be able to interpret it, and return the binary-format message to you via text. Yahoo SMS, however, would reject the text message all together and not send a reply.

So in addition to being able to text Verizon and T-Mobile phones, we can now text GOOGL and YAHOO for directory services thanks to the Palm SMS Patch! WOOHOO!

(For those users who are not familiar with Google SMS and Yahoo SMS, both are directory services provided via SMS. For the cost of a text message, you can text these directory services that will reply with directory listings, if available. For instance, if you text one of these services with a business name and a zip code, replies will be sent [within seconds] to you via text message with listings that match the name of the business you texted in that zip code and nearby vicinities...for only the cost of a text message, which is free if you have an unlimited text messaging plan! [Much cheaper than 411 and prevents you from having to call 800-FREE-411 and have to write down the phone number]. Test it by sending ?Target [and your zip code]? to ?46645? to receive listings containing the word ?Target? in or around the zip code specified.)

Furthermore, the inability to previously text GOOGL and YAHOO that has been corrected by the Palm SMS Patch also substantiates Malatesta's previous statement that the issue of sending SMS in binary format was specific to the 700wx and not to any networks because other Sprint phones can text GOOGL and YAHOO.
