You can't uninstall this app if you go to remove programs. The CAB installs all files to Programs Files\Palm Messaging and then you have to manually copy them to the Windows directory. This will overwrite ROM files.

The only ways to succesfully un-install are to either hard reset and restore a backup (which was recommended before installing this app); or if you manually backed up the files you replace from the CAB just copy them again to the Windows folder and then use Remove Programs to get rid of the registry changes, etc.

I do not know for sure if the second method would actually work...

thanks for your help guys, but it was all my mistake.

indeed i thought i was copying the files over to /windows, but they actually were not falling into the /windows folder. so i recopied them AGAIN (sorry!) and now it seems like my messages are being sent.

thanks for your patience, and advice!!

Hey I just wanted to say thanks to the people that worked on this to get a working install. I love the threaded SMS its the only thing i missed going from my treo 600 to my 6700. So far everything seems to be working fine on my 6700. Occasionally it seems like the old app takes over. But hey as long as i get all my texts and i can send and receive pic mail im happy

What MMS app? The Palm Messaging app on this thread is not enabled for MMS. A workaround has not been found. Are you talking about the other app?

(There's a thread about it on the Apache forum)
