Question. I was just about to install the beta3 when I decided to read to see if there were any changes. Now from what I understand the email gateway number for sprint is the same as verizon so if I install your 29th version instead, it will still be correct for my phone? Inquiring minds want to know.

Hmmmm If they are indeed the same gateway numbers then yes u could technically change the mms server address and it should work. give it a try, edit the server address, and report back please!

Ps. Just remember to have a free space on the start menu.

You need to install the .cab file, then copy ALL files in \Program Files\Palm Messaging to \Windows. Use Resco Explorer or TotalCommander to overwrite SYSTEM files!

MAKE SURE "Show Hidden System Files" is checked! There should be 10+ files to copy to \windows!

After some testing sending a text from a 700wx to the 6700 will not work. The message recieved on the 6700 end is The contents of this message cannot be displayed. But the 700wx recieves them fine. My 6700 will recieve texts fine and send them out fine to any other phone (tested with a flip sanyo). But the MMS feature hangs in the outbox and closes the messaging app after sending. Also if u resend the one in the outbox disappears and the new one takes its place......still havent recieved the MMS message on the other end.

I can also confirm:

6700 to others phones = Works

700wx to 700wx = Works

700wx to Email = Works

Phone "X" to 700wx = Works

700wx to Phone "X" = This message cannot be displayed

I have tried w/ two 6700s.

I think this is just the ongoing 700wx/Sprint SMS issue (related to the ascii/binary encoding) problem as it MIRRORS it exactly.

EDIT
: Meh, maybe not so simple. Others are reporting conflicting information including that this "worked" before the install.

Stay tuned.

Okay, the people who have 700wxs and can't send to a 6700 insist they can send to other Sprint phones with no problem.

It almost looks like a 700wx --> 6700 issue, specifically.

Well I edited the server address and everything works but the MMS. So same problem everyone else is having in regards to that. I did the install wrong the first time and bricked my treo but thanks to a hard reset and spb backup I got everything restored to try it again. The second time all went well. If anyone on verizon wants to test it with me feel fee to send me a pm and I will give you my number.

Any reason why when I send a text either new or reply it gets stuck in the OUTBOX.. I have to resend from OUTBOX and send. After I do this it then goes out fine. Any clue?

I have a clue...

You didn't do a proper installation with the new .cab!

Im sure your right.. I went back and saw you have both preAKU and Oct29 cabs listed and knowing me I probably downloaded the PreAKU and installed that one.

I will do a hard reset and do it all from scratch. Any suggestions otherwise?

I have no idea! Keep them handy for a few days and see what happens.

When finished (for everyone) YOU CAN DELETE THE PALM MESSAGING FOLDER!!!

Yup, MMS is NOT Fixed yet. You can still use the Arcsoft pic-mail hack (see thread on topic).

Not sure. We'll see if others have that issue or maybe it's a DST thing.
