One would think the 700w would be too slow for WM6 but user Fiktion has not only put it on his 700w, but says it works great.

http://discussion.treocentral.com/sh...164457&page=33

I'd say go for it...or better yet, wait till Ebag's posts his latest version (sometime soon) which fixes some little bugs he and others found.

Re: WM6 finally ported to Treo 700wx

Ok, first post ever.
Let me see if I have this straight before I do it.

First Download the sprint upgrade file.

Download the Windows Mobile 6 .nb0 file...

Replace the sprint .nb0 with the WM6 one...

Format an SD card as FAT32...

Copy files to the SD card...

Hit the reset button...

During the Treo intro screen remove the battery...

Insert SD card...

Replace Treo battery while holding the volume up button...

There should be a "bootloader" screen that says to press up...

Plug in Treo power cord and press up on the directional pad...

Wait 10 minutes...

Phone will reset, and load up in WM6.

Is that it?

ya that's it... pretty easy huh? after it loads WM6 (which the initial boot takes a bit longer than the average boot up....) make sure it's completely loaded and booted. Take out your SD card and do at least a soft reset. if your experience is anything like mine was, you may have to do like 2 or 3 soft resets soon after loading WM6... (trimmed rom is better IMO) but it should run smooth. good luck. it's simple so don't get nervous.

sorry to post 2 times back to back.... but I agree with you. I shouldn't jump straight to that conclusion... especially if the trimmed rom is being used (which should make a little bit of a difference) I am sure the W can "handle" it... but i just feel like it would be too slow for most people's liking. I could be wrong, i'm still fairly new to this stuff.

Re: WM6 finally ported to Treo 700wx

awesome, it worked. I got scared for a minute though, after I installed Palm threaded messaging, my phone said "no service"... I had to hard reset. Its good now though.

I followed this to the letter (from a different post) and I can't get my Treo past the Treo screen on boot. Any ideas?
