iPhone 3.0... Whatcha think?

And everyone with an iPhone is going to be "That is so great, look what I can do with my phone now!". Seriously, I hope one of my friends says that to me so I can show them that the last 3 phones I've used had the stuff on their update from the very beginning.

I guess. A lot of people are uninformed, and to me that is the worst way to make a decision. Being uninformed i mean.

Just a quick question to those that dont like the iPhone, mind you i do not care to hear your reasons for not liking it, unless of course ... Have you ever used one? And i dont mean watching your friend text. I mean like sat down with one for a few minutes or more, and actually tried it out?

IMO, i rather have an easy to use, finger friendly, media rich UI... copy/paste is a simple thing we have grown to rely on, but i dont think it was ever all that important.

Negrito in iphone it might not be very importante because you cant do a lot of things you do in WM...
An example:i cant access Windows folder via activeSync and i want to change some PNG files,withouth copy/paste that would be impossible...in iphone you wouldnt need that because you cant replace system files that easily...
In everyday life working with a WM PDA its very handy to have it for various reasons where this will make your life much easier,again in iphone you wont miss it because no one really uses iphone to work...or at least no one i know...

Besides us here at ppcgeeks who else would need to do that? Were the iPhone wins is the average consumer dosent need to do majority of the things that we mention. I used to go at it with some of my employees on the functionality of WM vs iPhone untill i tried it out for 30 days. I can say with all honesty that with the new stuff that's being implemented by the 3.0 update, the average joe will choose the iPhone 9 out of 10 times over WM. Thats just being honest.

I dont know what business function you would need to change a PNG within the windows folder for but like i said previously im just informing the uninformed. Once jb(Jailbroken) you can ssh into your iDevice very easy and navigate and do everything just like a normal computer (i believe you can even access the root(Windows) folder through it.

So your point is somewhat invalid.

Also, last night i was at the Busta Rhymes VIP after party, and ALL the execs in there had iPhones. Granted they just run things like Flip Mode Squad, Vortex Gravity Bongs, and Spliff Star Threads, but they are all very much so business men, and were all working quite diligently last night.

I believe you an i are on the same level. I never understood the allure of the iPhone until i broke both my iPod Nano, and iPod Classic. I treated myself to a Second Gen iPod Touch, and now i know why they have sold however many million(billion?) iPhones.

Its just like "how many people do you know with a computer?" "Ok, now out of those how many know how to partition, defrag, or even format a drive?" Exactly. Thats why the iPhone is so popular. (Hope that analogy makes as much sense when its read as it does in my head...)

Yea i understand what you are saying. Man the only thing that made me not keep it was the cost per month. Other than that i love it just as much as i love WM. I'm just tired of cooking and tweaking WM roms plus the fact that i get bored easily makes it an attractive alternative. My girl wants an iDevice now and i just might take the plunge again with her.

I think i have found a happy medium. WinMo phone(preferably an HTC one!) and an iPod Touch.

I agree 100%, the price of the iPhone is outlandish, but now AT&T are offering, or going to be offering the iPhone sans contract, but of course for an inflated price. I believe the 16GB is $599.

Negrito, I admire your attempt to inform the masses, but I believe you are fighting a losing battle on this forum. Most PPCgeeks will dismiss the iphone without actually knowing how it works or actually ever using one.

They simply focus on one of two shortcomings of the iphone (yes there are plenty) and just go with it.

Look it's not a perfect smartphone... and certainly the appeal of it may be limited among PPCgeeks since most of us like to unlock, reflash and tweak our devices to no end. BUt most consumers are not like us. They like a phone a smart phone that generally is easy to use and works right out of the box. (how many of us love our WinMo device straight out of the box?) In other words that are totally non-geeks.

But to say that the iphone is crap and only a product of marketing is just total ignorance.
