They're just slowly rolling out a few "new" features each year to ensure that people will upgrade to the latest iphone. Maybe 4.0 or 5.0 will finally offer the ability to take video.

Its a nice addition, but some of them things is what was suppose to be in it in the 1st place.

LOL, yeah, except UNLIKE MS, you can install this on your version 1.0 iPhone, free. And your iPod Touch.

Think outside the Redmond ;)

I think this just keeps the iPhone well ahead of the pack for mindshare.

This upgrade is only for iPhone 3G. First Gen iPhone's are not included in this update.

I'm a mac user and my wife loves the iPhone, I think the update is needed and will make the fanboys happy. I don't understand how they(iPhone fanboys) are so excited about things that should have been done 2 years ago. No Flash support, No tethering, No multitask... NO WAY IN HELL would I think of getting an iPhone.

I can't argue with that. And when you factor in all the other irritants (Unreplacable battery, locked down os, etc) I think I'll pass.
