Sort of sums it up. There are people who absolutely love it and some that absolutely hate it. Not too many people in the middle. It's definitely one of those polarizing devices out there.

But I agree it will generally make the iphone user happy. Hard to complain if it is free (not for itouch though).

I just don't get it...why do people make such a big deal out of iphone? I mean PPC dominated in every single feature that iphone has for a longest time. I mean exchange sync, cut&paste, GPS, bluetooth, etc.

Only thing that PPC doesn't have yet is the multi-touch and that's about it. To me PPC is much more robust in terms of productivity and functionality.

I just think its BS that they keep charging Ipod touch users for new updates.

isn't it bad enough the unit is more expensive then the Iphone yet more stripped down?

Like I said, the iphone is perhaps the most polarizing device today.
Almost EVERY iphone thread on this board brings up the same stuff... (stinks, inferior, old technology, etc). I guess Apple really blew it when it came out with the device. I wonder how much money they are losing keeping this inferior product on the market. LOL

But getting back to the thread title. I think iphone users will be happy for the update but it really doesn't have any affect on us WMO users since it doesn't offer any new ground breaking functionality.

because the mp3/video player blows away any wm device away IMO, and of course there is the whole App thing going, and as a personal preference I like the Safari browser better the Opera's/IE.

the larger screen is nice to have

its the marketing. And IMHO the ATT Fuze campaign is a bit more...what's the word oh yes REALISTIC

there's a lot of apple wow factor don't get me wrong, but its dated. Its been 2 years 3rd party developers and hackers are actually being stopped more than the people that say microsoft stops development

I think it depends on your usage. I mainly use my phone for the following:

Scheduling/appointments, email, weather, GPS/directions/location services, texting, music, internet browsing, and music.

I guess in sum, I'm a pretty "basic" user and probably much more representative of an "average" consumer. I'm not sure WM has huge advantage in the above categories. Wrap it up in a nice form factor, give it much nicer display, and I can see why someone would use one.

Right now though, SERO is keeping me firmly planted at Sprint. If I can't extend SERO, I don't have a lot of incentive not to switch.
