Re: Say Goodbye To All Touch Screens!

Wild isn't it? Although I'm not sure I would want a word cloud to be projected on my fat gut...

Re: Say Goodbye To All Touch Screens!

as it is, this device would not trump the use of screens and touch screens. Even if it were downsized to the size of a necklace, the fact is that a projecter is just not as user friendly as a physical screen. For one thing, every time you "press" a button, the image will be projected onto your finger which would get annoying after a while. Plus the constant need for a surface would get annoying, especially in crowded areas.

What i think really needs to be developed is a projector that uses the air alone to project its image. The projector would have to utilize individual molecules in the air to refract the beam on itself. This technology is in the early stages but is far from reality. Also, if one were to develop a screenless projector, it wouldnt be that much harder to then make 3d images (or holograms). By manipulating the depth at which projecter beams come in contact with air particles, the resultant would be a front view 3d image. Essentially, by eliminating the need for a screen, the brightness of the image would stay the same (because distances would be the same) and day to day operation would be less cumbersome.

As for the camera recognition part though, i think its genius and would work great in a necklace. However the controversial privacy issues of always having a camera monitoring your surroundings are monumental.

Yeah, it definitely wouldn't catch on in its current state, but it's still impressive.

how are u gonna run out of surface??? you could just use any part of your body if u needed to

also to the "However the controversial privacy issues of always having a camera monitoring your surroundings are monumental." we already have constant camera montioring by our governement.. but theyd have to stick a shutter sound in their too... congress want to pass a bill, anti child explotation kinda thing, that makes shutter sounds impossible to disable so that someone always can tell when ur taking a pic
