Re: Hotmail Finally Gets on the POP3 Train, Still No IMAP
does anyone know a way or a hack or something that will allow this hotmail account to check as items come in, rather then every 5 minutes?
When i try to set it up using the Live version of hotmail, i get syncing issues to certain email accounts

Re: Hotmail Finally Gets on the POP3 Train, Still No IMAP
Windows Hotmail used to provide HTTP access via Outlook or Pocket outlook for free for older accounts. One of my older accounts still works with that feature but is so inundated with spam its no longer worth using. Its a shame they removed that feature, its actually one of the main reasons I switched to gmail, because I couldn't create a new account with IMAP/HTTP access via Outlook.

Re: Hotmail Finally Gets on the POP3 Train, Still No IMAP
hotmail has pop3. shouldnt this have happened awhile ago? i'm new to this stuff, but i thought that IMAP was the better way to go? i currently have multiple gmail accounts and im trying to hook them up to my outlook and phone while syncing and it seems that i have 3 of them setup to pop3 and 1 of them imap without me changing any setttings.

I just use Windows Live. I can set it to receive my email as it arrives and specify during what hours I want to receive them.
