Hotmail Finally Gets on the POP3 Train, Still No IMAP
The Windows Live team announced POP3 support for Hotmail recently, allowing you to get your mail on your phone without resorting to the web browser.
Here are the details you’ll need to know to get it working: POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995) POP SSL required? Yes User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example yourname@hotmail.com Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live SMTP server: smtp.live.com (Port 25 or 587) Authentication required? Wow...
I never thought MS would give away pop3 access for free. I figured if anything, they would do the Yahoo route and a a Plus! feature. Thanks for this heads up, I can add it to my google gmail account now! |

I still can't get it to set up on my omnia... it automatically redirects me to the live site.

I've had hotmail working on my phone forever without the browser the problem I have is I can only have one hotmail accout otherwise it resorts to the browser for the second

how do I set this up? I'm using a Treo 700wx. I tried putting in my email address in step 1 of 5 and after I hit next it takes me back to the pocket msn page.

That's odd. I also have a 700WX and had no problem setting it up. What exactly did you do in step 1?
