Hotmail Finally Gets on the POP3 Train, Still No IMAP
The Windows Live team announced POP3 support for Hotmail recently, allowing you to get your mail on your phone without resorting to the web browser.
Here are the details you’ll need to know to get it working: POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995) POP SSL required? Yes User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example yourname@hotmail.com Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live SMTP server: smtp.live.com (Port 25 or 587) Authentication required? Yes (this matches your POP username and password) TLS/SSL required? Yes http://www.intomobile.com/2009/02/24...l-no-imap.html

Wow...
I never thought MS would give away pop3 access for free. I figured if anything, they would do the Yahoo route and a a Plus! feature. Thanks for this heads up, I can add it to my google gmail account now!

I've had hotmail working on my phone forever without the browser the problem I have is I can only have one hotmail accout otherwise it resorts to the browser for the second

TX... You are the man for finally getting hotmail to work on my Omnia or any PPC for that matter. BadFrog... when setting it up initially just put your user name@.com and omit hotmail and click next. Then you can input everything into POP and SMTP, and you will be all set. Ahh finally... SO GREAT!!!

how do I set this up? I'm using a Treo 700wx. I tried putting in my email address in step 1 of 5 and after I hit next it takes me back to the pocket msn page.
