Re: Windows Mobile 6.5 next month?

I doubt will see offical roms update for current devices. microsoft is gonna want all new devices for there os. that is assuming its something new and fresh. not just a update like 6.1 was. but once the people get a rom it won't be long til its hacked and patches for current devices

Re: Windows Mobile 6.5 next month?

actually I think we will see a 6.5 ROM update around June. Dont hold your luck for a Win 7 ROM update though. We will have to get new phones for that.

You know I was thinking the same thing! I know the said winmo 7 won't be updated to any phones out right now. But I figured winmo 6.5 would be. Just wondering around the time we would see an official rom update. I also was thinking a summer release too

Re: Windows Mobile 6.5 next month?

I will wait and watch! Like I do with first gen devices and new OS's. I figure if it pans out well in the real-world (forums, friends, articles) than I will give it a shot! Now...if they wnt to give me a device to beta test on, sure LOL, but I like seeing real usage before I jump in!!!

But....from what I have read/seen, it looks interesting...I am willing to bet there will be a lot of finger-friendly support....how can they not at this juncture in multi-functional devices???

oh yeah....were talking about MicroSoft.......

Re: Windows Mobile 6.5 next month?

I hope they can pull this off. I want a STABLE OS that doesn't eat my resources.

I don't know if you guys have thought about this, but....

Windows Mobile 6 = Windows XP
Windows Mobile 6.1 = Windows XP SP2
Windows Mobile 6.5 = Windows Vista
Windows Mobile 7 = Windows 7

That's their goal, I bet. Windows Mobile 7 and Windows 7 are going to be like 2 peas in a pod. And from here on out, MS is probably going to keep both on the same level.

By the way, if you disagree with WM6.5 being Vista, read this:

Microsoft has ALWAYS gone the Major/Minor route with OS's.

-I THINK I MAY HAVE THIS MESSED UP-
Windows 2000 - Major
XP - Minor
Vista - Major
[Expected] 7 - Minor

I'm not sure I agree with much of your post, heh. That's great and all that the 7's lineup and perhaps that part is intentional. However, what about Vista is Minor? It was a complete overall from XP. If anything Vista is Major, and Win 7 is Minor, as in, it's very similar to Vista.

Re: Windows Mobile 6.5 next month?

Oh my bad, I got the Major/Minors mixed up.

EDIT: I can't find the list of major/minor upgrades, so... I think what I have now is right, but I could be wrong.
