Re: Meet the T-Mobile G1
Android seems promising and may offer speed and good bang for buck, but for now things like WifiRouter and Slingbox keep me on the WM side.

you cant say "android isnt worth it, wah wah i win." t-mobile ISNT worth it. leaving a cheap plan ISNT worth it. you'd have to be a moron to leave a sprint sero plan just for a phone or OS. you're trying to "diss" the android when in fact its the most innovative o/s to come out for a phone since apple introduced the iphone. like someone mentioned earlier, truly open source = endless possibilities. |

Re: Meet the T-Mobile G1
Have any of you guys used the G1 with Android? Android is not totally polished but it has incredible potential. It is fast, in my opinion really sleek, and when this thing gets on a less unfortunate phone, I think it will take off. My only issue right now (besides the lack of A2DP which I'm sure someone will fix) is that there is NO ONSCREEN KEYBOARD, I'm used to my Mogul where I don't have to flip it out everytime I want to login. That is weird and sucky lol.

Time will tell but I would expect to see alot of exciting and innovative applications for Android. Choice and competition are good.

Re: Meet the T-Mobile G1
Why let an advertiser/content provider (google) design your house foundation? they will design in such a way that your mail box is full of ad.
Android: 1) close network since phone is locked Since Tmobile want to control content. 2) close content since very things go to/from Android have to go through google services. How is it better than iphone and itune and Apple app store? 3) not as many available app/tweaks as window mobile, yet. they said that Andorid is an open OS but the content is controled by google. there is no integration app to sync android and PC yet, or ever. it is a bad idea to let content/ad provider (such as google) to design the foundation of phone OS. google will design android in such a way that users are forced to use their content or ad. In the end, users have to choose between google content or apple content, just like republican or democrat. and trust me, this will trigger microsoft. they will pull money and resources into WM to either copy android features or putting alot free features into WM. seeing the Android, I am not exciting.
