mobile youtube is a new service of youtube, but don't work 100% yet (the search function don't work...)
but I can play in my device the video very well. When you click on the video you want to play, youtube open a different player, as you can see from my screenshot
(yes, the format are 3gp)

PS: ....sorry for the 'little' OT

Interesting that you were able to get it to play in what appears to be WMP. I have the 3gp add-on installed for TCPMP and have a video with that extension on my device that plays fine. However, every time I click on the video TCPMP says it doesn't support a certain protocol (can't remember off hand). I tried saving in PIE and in Opera without any luck, so anyone have any suggestions?

I'm new for wm (I come from palm oS). I don't find yet a good player (like tcmp on treo 650): tcmp on treo 750 don't work very well.
So, for now, I use wmp.
when I click on the video, youtube open a different player, simil to wmp but not wmp (?!?)
If you look my first svreenshot you can view the icon (in the upper-bar) of this player and it's not wmp.

??!!?? but youtube don't install nothings, it's a simple link to view in PIE*

I have installed also: PocketStreamerPro, e-Mobile tv, RealPlayer, PocketPlayer and Pocket dvx, but I don't think is one of this to play the video (different icon)

* PIE with PiePlus

It has to be one of those many players you have because I tried this from 700wx, and even though WMP opened, it didn't recognize the file and did not play.

I have been messing with this too since Pibe linked to this thread from another thread.

I don't think the issue is so much with the .3gp extension. I have The Core Media Player installed on my 700wx and I have the .3gp checked off in the "file extensions" section in settings. The issue seems to be with the "rtsp//:" protocol.

When I click on a link on the mobile youtube page PIE pops a window that says:

"Running a system command on this item might be unsafe. Do you wish to continue?"

I click "yes"

Then Core opens and pops a window that says:

"RTSP protocol not supported!"

RTSP stands for "Real Time Streaming Protocol" and the player that the device wants to use must support it. Evidently Core does not unless they have an add-on or update. I don't know about WMP.

Here is an RTSP FAQ:

WMP supports streaming, however, it does not support .3GP

Question is... what is uvz using that allows him to use YouTube mobile on his 750?!?!?

Youtube Mobile

Strange, so one person has got it working on a Treo 750. Anyone else have a Treo 750 that can try it? I'm still wishing that some good mobile streaming solution comes up soon. Soapbox still buffers way too much for it to be used effectively, but at least they are trying.

Take care,

The process is Streamingplayer.exe (into windows folder) and the app name is Streaming Media.
I don't remember when (o from what) I've installated.

I think you'll have no problem to find it with google

bye
