Microsoft Soapbox
The mobile site is finally up and running! It's like a youtube or google video site. It's the first service that I know of that streams video like youtube to the mobile.
http://soapbox.msn.com/mobile It's still somewhat in beta. I noticed, it buffers alot which is not that good, and it shows a very tiny window instead of being able to customize the windows size. It is a step in the right direction though! Hopefully, soon, we'll be able to watch youtube and google video on the mobile too. Take a look at it, it's kind of cool! Take care, connector777 |
Uhmmm gotta take a look at it, thanks for the link!

Yuppers...
Yea, it's cool. Try also to see the regular site at
http://soapbox.msn.com/ It's Microsoft's answer to Youtube. I kind of like the new format and the videos seem to be better quality I suppose. Both the regular site and mobile site are beta I think, I've been on it for sometime since it opened, but it seems neat. I wish they could buffer more on the mobile since it stops too much right now, but it is a step in the right direction, and I hope soon, we can stream a lot of stuff on the mobile. I often capture Youtube stuff, and convert it to my ppc, but I would prefer not having to capture it on my pc and transfering it to my ppc, it takes too long. Anyway, enjoy, soapbox should be getting better soon. Something to look forward to. I just hope they can add an option to watch at 240x320, so I can get to see the videos on my whole screen. But they probably won't since they are probably leaning more to people playing the videos on their Q's than the ppc. See ya! connector777 |

I don't think it's a demo site, I think it's an issue of the formatting of the videos. The format is 3gp, which is usually played (or at least recorded) by regular Java/WAP cellphones.
I'm 99% sure WMP won't play them... don't know about TCPMP because I don't use it. |
