I used to have 6.1, but it was a pain in the rear. The rom was updated every week or so with new features and fixes by no2chem, which is awesome, but it also meant reinstalling EVERY SINGLE program over and over and over. Also, the official roms run leaner for me than the custom roms, and they have NO WHERE NEAR the amount of bugs that the custom roms have.

The thing about using these roms is I like the full release rom EXACTLY as it is and all of these ROMs add or remove stuff, tweak this and that. If I could get a custom ROM that was the same as the latest Official ROM except running 6.1 then I'd consider flashing.

My feelings exactly. I dont mind if they rip out things like the music store or things like that, but when they go messing with parts of the OS, the dialers, the bluetooth, and registry settings, I feel it makes the phone a lot more unstable and leads to troubles along the road like with the Jivetalk program in the Software section that a ton of people are having problems installing.

You should check out vetvito's wm6.1 stock 3.35 rom. it's clean, fast, and stable. It's the Official Sprint Radio Rom put to wm6.1!

But what is modified? I mean, I know something was, no one seems to use the stock roms. I mean, I want everything that comes with the official ROM. I use Audible a LOT. I like the OnDemand, etc. If there are any tweaks to be done, I will do them myself. I just want the stock rom with 6.1

Is that what this is? If so, give me a link because I'm there!

The whole idea of flashing to 6.1 is a placebo effect. I think there is a reason why it's a.1 upgrade, it's just not worth it.

I agree no need to flash from WM6 to 6.1 unless you need the threaded messaging. Even then I use cody threaded messaging on dcd WM6 and it works just as well. If I'm not mistaken 6.1 uses more ram than WM6 also.

Wow!!! bunch of scary a$$ people in here!!! lol....I was and still am a noob to all this stuff, but I trust my ability to read and follow instructions, and I'm patient enough to carefully read all the way thru to make sure I have followed everything to a "T"...

but...if you don't need GPS, Threaded SMS, and just the shear fun of flashing to make ur phone a little more personalized, then by all means wait around for the official release!!! like they say "scared money don't make none" have fun being stock!!!
