Re: Will MoPho be as supported as HTC??
Support starts somewhere...I remember back in the day when I mentioned the Galaxy S people would say how "devs won't support it" but guess what? in the end it was supported and pretty well, the i9000 is pretty much the 2nd biggest forum on xda (and this does not include all the other variants, if you combine the variants its the biggest).
So it may be a little rough early on, but you definitely will get there..with such powerful hardware and Android OS, generally stock is decent..and custom roms is just pure benefit.

Re: Will MoPho be as supported as HTC??
"i'm super excited to see Yay4Juggs and Calk deving for the photon tho. When it comes down to it, i'd rather have a few big names on the dev team rather than dozens of "ok" devs. I've dramatically slowed down my "rom-testing" flashaholic ways lately and have been sticking with the big named devs and stablest ROMs."
exactly the way im thinking plus source is not out yet. |

Re: Will MoPho be as supported as HTC??
I feel the same way as you guys. I'm not stuck to one brand or one manufacturer but some swear by HTC. Kinda like some swear by apple. HTC makes good phones like the E4G. I still have 3 of them on my payroll! But the E3D...not so much.
Where I live, rural lake county, Florida, my E4G's got good reception. I had to literally make it go into roaming or drop a call. The E3D, all 3 I had, reception was almost non-existent and that bothered me. Dropped calls more than AT&T and sound quality was worse than 20 year old radio shack paper speakers. Not to mention the screen tilt on 2 of them and dust under the screens. I just could not like the E3D even though I tried so hard. Sense is a bombshell though. I like how it does the weather and how it ties alot of the OS into it making things pretty easy. But the skin isn't a make or break for me. The moPho beats the E3D, even the E4G, in reception and sound quality. To me there is no comparison between the two. This IS a big deal for me as I drive a dump truck for a living and them things get loud, not to mention I drive all over Florida. So I need a phone that's a phone first ( have a 2 year old) to talk to the wife when needed then a PDA second. And that's what, to me, the Photon is. I like the moPho for it's simplistic UI. Nothing real fancy, but totally customizable. The motoblur or whatever they call it now, seems slow, unfinished, and kinda just blah. So I added LP and this thing flies and is smooth as butter. I couldn't be happier. The only gripe I have with it though is BT. Seems if I use it during the day, then turn it off when I get home, I have all the problems everyone says they have. P/S stops working, locked dialer screen, silent call issues, etc. But a simple reboot fixes them. If I don't use BT in any way, the phone is flawless. This just shouldn't happen but I'm giving the benefit of the doubt that it will be fixed in an update. BUt like you guys, I can't wait till the source code is released so they can start making great roms for the moPho! Kinda excited by it!
