Re: droidmod 1.0 and 2.1 update

so i tried installing that file and when I hit install update.zip it says blocked then i hit allow update.zip and the status bar starts then just sits there. I dont know if im doing something wrong but i got worried and just reset the phone. Im willing to try again if i did do the right steps but just didnt wait long enough or something.

Sounds like you did everything correctly. Here's what I did exactly.
1.) Booted into recovery
2.) Allowed update
3.) Selected to install update
4.) Backed out and rebooted when it was finished
It only took few seconds for it to install. Are you sure you had the update.zip file on the root of your card? It doesn't make sense why it wouldn't install for you.

It is a radio update. Others claim that it improves connectivity, battery life, and battery temps. From my experience, it definitely improved connectivity, can't say for battery life, and I can't tell any difference with battery temps.
My phone gets a much better signal now though.

Re: droidmod 1.0 and 2.1 update

So has anyone read the post on Droidmod.org? there saying there is no point of rooting 2.1 now i understand you can back track from 2.1 and goto 2.0.1 and root from there but doesnt 2.1 have alot to do with the kernel and what not. I know im still learing a lot about how this stuff is done but it would seem to me there would be a point to rooting 2.1 right? now since droidmod has made rooting your droid a brain dead job i havent been up to date on a lot of other mods out there, from what i hear there is 2.1 update with root? correct me if im wrong please. and if im right what is wrong with it and why wouldnt droidmod use that or say there no point but to rooting if someone has already did it. Im just really confused lol.... maybe someone with more knowledge on this can set me straight.

Radio only. Not sure what you mean by 2.01 information.

Sounds to me like the team there is dead. I would move on to those that are providing ROMs instead of excuses.

Rooting 2.1 has already been accomplished and is rather easy to accomplish providing you follow the directions. Look in the Droid development section of alldroid for the sticky of upgrading 2.01 to 2.1. It will provide step by step directions.

Re: droidmod 1.0 and 2.1 update

Is their team dead, or do they have nothing new to add based on the 2.1 ROM?

Well the Droidmod team pissed a lot of people off making excuses saying they have ethics and that is why they haven't released anything in a while. It was a very rude letter that was a kick to the groin for many people. Essentially, they blew up on the people who were requesting and pushing for new roms to be developed and released quicker. They lost the support of many people in the phone modding community.

Re: droidmod 1.0 and 2.1 update

I understand how many people would feel. Does that mean there are few people to do the future modding?
