Re: Verizon Releases the 2.1 update
What timing. I just picked up my Droid last night. From what I've briefly read the official 2.1 also includes a radio update. I didn't think you could get that from any custom ROM or root, so that might be something to think about. I'm sure the "offical" 2.1 will be rooted in a matter of days if not hours anyways.
On a side note, I'm stoked to finally get my own droid Loving it so far! |

Re: Verizon Releases the 2.1 update
So I am curious how the rest of you running ROMs are dealing with the news of the OTA update.
Have you blocked OTA updates? I see AdamZ posted a blocker update for Smoked Glass and many ROMs built in a blocker. If not blocked, will you be accepting the update or choosing not to update if you can? |

Re: Verizon Releases the 2.1 update
I have another question about the update; I hope this isn't a dumb question. If I were to go to the 2.1 update, and then wanted to get root back without losing all info, couldn't I use the 2.0.1 sbf, install recovery, then restore one of my nandroid backups to et all of my apps and data back?

Also, if you ever rooted overclocked at 1200 mhz, you would see a major difference in smoothness (of scrolling and loading) and quickness. Losing my OC capability is the main reason I don't want the update. |
