Yeah, this one doesn't hold too much water anymore, and compared to some of the other things missing, this one is a non-issue for the vast majority. I think speed dials are more of a legacy item. There are more efficient ways now - trying to remember more than a few speed dial numbers is ineffient. People now have 100's of contacts, so favorites and actual speed dial shortcuts (on the homescreen) is much more effient/productive.

Predictive dialing on the other hand is something that should just work - damn, or at least be present!!!

Re: Droid does.......not

Excellent input, I'm glad the novelty has worn off enough to discuss fashion faux pas of the kings attire without hostile resistance

Perhaps a thread of well articulated 'must haves or dos' would be constructive

Its painful for me to hold this device, know how capable it inherently is and have to accept such disappointing lack of common sense functioning

and I dont care what an Iphone or Blackberry wont do

Fully integrated hands free voice control and speech to text

Right out of the box with no monkey motion

I'll have to say the voice recognition is fantastic, the motorola phone I had seven years ago was better than anything recent winmo

I want it all

Thanks for your input and dont be bashful about methodicallu listing your wants

Have you seen instructions somewhere for installing the Milestone EQ on the Droid?
To get the system EQ, we have to wait for the dump of the Milestone's latest software update. I've been constantly checking here http://alldroid.org/viewtopic.php?f=210&t=1604&start=0 and hoping that it will cbe ported soon.

Re: Droid does.......not

Has anyone noticed the call log bug?

Stock it does not report a call as 'yesterday' until 24 hours have passed

Yeah, though that is a behavoir and not a bug.
It shows 1 thru 23hrs, and then if it is over 23.5hrs (or whatever the cutoff is) it will show "yesterday". And then "2 days ago" after another 24hrs passes, and then "3 days ago", etc ...

The bug is that there is no option for "call details" when you long press!! You can't see the length or the time called.

Re: Droid does.......not

I think we should distinguish between Android deficiencies versus Motorola Droid hardware and software issues. Is the inability to attach non-photo files to emails a Droid problem or an Android issue?

I think the car dock problems I outlined in an earlier post are clearly Motorola problems.

Both.
It is Android's fault for not having a file browser/manager like OI File Manager built in.
It is Moto's fault for not adding something like OI File Manager to the Droid's OS.

Just download OI File Manager and problem no longer exists (it will automatically be an option when you click "attach" in the Email or Gmail apps).

EDIT: Or maybe it is "neither". Verizon in their infinite wisdom may have told them to leave off the file browser? Does the Milestone also not have a file browser?

Re: Droid does.......not

Does anyone have any rants about the myriad of ways gmail is assinine on this device other than box stock file unmanaging?

Am I overlooking an empty button for both the trash and maybe spam boxes?

Has anyone gotten their teat in the ringer by thinking they were forwarding only part of an email only to learn other and all of an email was sent?

And wassup with the outbox seeming to indicate emails from days ago are still sending.

Not very assuring if doing business correspondence or dealing with many other possible real life situations.

Did it send them or not?
I am able to see call details. I'll see which build is on this one if the reports are not consistent and Ill note the steps to reveal them. Intuitive enough that I dont recall.

Re: Droid does.......not

IIt would be cool to not have four different file managers installed not including a couple systems montors..... ect

Seems like one should do the trick

Are all you sure yours works peachy on the forums?

This forum is completely fidgety on a droid and there ate jumpy box issues when trying to correct typos

Search issues too
