Re: How-To: Root your Droid

you can use droid root helper to install the busybox and flash_image command and then either can flash recovery images from there or adb shell

Re: How-To: Root your Droid

Heres Droid Root Helper v7

copy the "tools" folder to the root of your sd card
use Astro to install the APK
itll ask for root access and may crash once you accept
once you open it just install in the order after mounting mtdblock4
you can either use .15 recovery this comes with.. or rename .99.2b to the same name as .15 and it'll install .99.2b instead

Download Link

Re: How-To: Root your Droid

I am totally confused at this point. I have read OP and Post #2 several times and still am unsure of anything. So this is what i have done. I have installed the Droid Boot Helper, Tools folder to sdcard and all other required. I then began the steps according to the app. My problem is i have installed the Skull theme and was successful in getting the default theme back, however the freaking Skull animated boot screen is still there.

Also am i suppose to do a back up of my system before i start everything else so i have a good copy of the stock system, so if i need to go back to factory i can. I am very confused. Pleas help!

I never installed the bootscreen or the skull theme but if you go to droudboots.com they have others you can replace and reinstall including the original or new one should be in /data/local

Re: How-To: Root your Droid

Tools/bootanimation/ has the skull bootanimation.zip simply download the one you want name it bootanimation.zip and replace the skull one within that folder and hit instal boot animation in droid root helper and reboot
