Phone keeps turning on

Hey guys, I'm guessing this is a common question but I tried searching for it and could not find an answer. But my Vogue keeps turning on every 10 seconds in my pocket or when I put it down, it gets annoying because it drains the battery life and I accidentally dial people's phone numbers. So I was wondering if there was a fix for this problem.

I know there are phone lockers out there, but I tried to install Device Lock 1.1 on my phone but noticed it was a little buggy, so I got annoyed with it. It would be cool if anyone knows how to fix this problem, or is it a Windows Mobile type error?

How much signal are you getting? I ask cause this could be caused by the phone turning on when you are going in and out of roaming areas. You might need a different radio. Also, you could be accidentally pushing the power button while it is in your pocket causing the screen to come on. You could also have an app that is doing this. Running in the background. Try carrying your Vogue in the pouch in your pocket or clipped to your belt and see if it comes on. I guess it could also be a short in your power button. You could try looking for something that would change the behavior of the power button so you have to press and hold it to turn the screen on. There may be an option in settings/system/buttons that you can alter to do this but I'm not positive.

I'm getting 3G in my house. It turns on even when it is just sitting on the table. I turn the screen off using the button, and then it turns back on after a minute or so. I have the 3.42 Radio (I know I updated the radio because I flash ROMs all the time, but I know its not due to a specific ROM because it did it with the stock ROM and other ROMs also). As far as the applications running in the background, I tried to see if any were running with the task manager, and it showed that no program was being used.

I suggest you use an app like memmaid or something that will show running processes instead of just task manager cause then you can see more detail about what is running. Like I said it could actually be an issue with the power button so if that's the case your only option would be to take it in for repair. Can you do a hard reset? If it still does it after that then you know it is a hardware issue. Good Luck!!

Thanks, I think its a hardware issue. I just called Sprint and they said they will replace the phone for me. Thanks again.

Just out of curiosity, are they charging you for the replacement?
