How much signal are you getting? I ask cause this could be caused by the phone turning on when you are going in and out of roaming areas. You might need a different radio. Also, you could be accidentally pushing the power button while it is in your pocket causing the screen to come on. You could also have an app that is doing this. Running in the background. Try carrying your Vogue in the pouch in your pocket or clipped to your belt and see if it comes on. I guess it could also be a short in your power button. You could try looking for something that would change the behavior of the power button so you have to press and hold it to turn the screen on. There may be an option in settings/system/buttons that you can alter to do this but I'm not positive.
