Verizon GPS not working anymore

A major thing to remember though, when you flash to the older stock rom, DO NOT LET CUSTOMIZATIONS RUN. This was my major problem in initially getting gps to work, but after I reflashed with the older stock rom, and then upgraded again (Without letting customizations run) my life suddenly became so much easier.

Just want to Clarify....

I had my GPS working with Verizon Stock 6.1 w/ valhalla.
Tried both NFS 6.1 and 6.5 with the GPS "fixes" never got my GPS to work.
Tried reg edits, QPST mods to Telus settings, etc. to no avail.

Flashed back to VW 6.1, with Valhalla, and GPS strong as ever.

i really want to get this to work with a custom ROM (NFS 6.5)

Specifically how did you get the GPS to work with a custom ROM?

Flash to VW6.1: do not let customizatiosn run Y/N
Then flash to Custom ROM (me: NFS 6.5), let customizations run??

Then?
QPST to telus settings?
Run NFSFAN VW GPS .cab settings?
Any specific reg edits?

I believe that the problem you may be having is that you need to flash back to a preGPS rom before updating to a new radio and custom ROM. MR1 installs some settings on a very deep level that prevent custom roms from using GPS. When you update to a signed nbh file (or RUU) from VZW they overwrite those files. This is the same on several phones.

Is that the VW 6.0 that came stock with the phone?

When MR1 installs these settings, is this during the customization process?

Now you are running a 3.42.5 radio, with is a Bell radio. But you are a verizon user. is it cool to "cross pollinate" radios between companies?

You need the ROM that was used before MR1 "unlocked" GPS for VZnav.

Don't install other radios and ROMs unless you know other people that have installed and it worked for them. I am on a Titan and that is the best one for us now, there may be a newer one for the Vogue that is better; you should read a lot before making any rash decisions. I know you can use this radio, but download carefully. Read this thread here for some newer information.

Wow - now that I finally got it going, I just made the changes to the Telus registry settings and QPST settings. Fantastic. w/ Verizon settings, I was bouncing between 0 & 3 sats indoors, 0 & 5 outside. Now not going below 5 indoors, getting 7-9 outside.
