Please be aware that Cassy's (fredcatsmommy) regedits are only for those that are not running Valhalla. Valhalla users should use the above regedit. I wanted to make this clear now since we have users of both ways. Steve |

EnableAGPS=1 This just tells your vogue to try and use the assistance server. Your GPS should still work and if the assistance server ever comes back online it will just work faster.

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore
Sorry but I am confused by the "back to". Using Valhalla, should the entries be this?
HKLM\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS\EnableAGPS = 2 HKLM\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS\GPSMode = 0 HKLM\Software\Valhalla Legends\GPSServer\Mode=0 |

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore
My 6800's GPS crapped out the same time. Using "GPS View" application I can see the gps strings and they're almost all strings of commas rahter than the coded data I used to see. One string shows data and repeats. It may be the query string from the application. It seems that Verizon must have sent something out to disable these phones gps functions. I'm on the war path now. Who wants to sign up for a class action suit? I see the potential for claims for malicious damage, attempts to monopolize, various computer crimes, etc.

See this post. I believe EnableAGPS should be 0 or 1... OFF or ON. GPSMode=0 just uses plain GPS with no assist. Don't know about Vlhalla... don't use it. But if your objective is to use plain old non-assisted GPS since the GPS assistance server appears to be offline then you would probably use; HKLM\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS\EnableAGPS = 0 HKLM\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS\GPSMode = 0 HKLM\Software\Valhalla Legends\GPSServer\Mode=0 Last edited by denasqu; 03-20-2009 at 09:24 AM. |

Yeah that was my objective. I just wanted to be sure I was interpreting spetrillo's information from post #62 correctly.

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore
For those w/ MR1 and valhalla's GPSServer, I followed zanymonster's step 3 here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...424387&page=57, and mine started working. From my understanding, the Mode=0 makes it so that it's only GPS, not aGPS (which is probably what verizon took away from us), so the first lock isn't fast, like 1-2 minutes, but then subsequent locks only take about 10 seconds. None of the other regedits I've seen and tried did anything for me... Here are the steps I took to get mine working again...
3) edit the registry and change the following 3 entries: * \HKLM\Software\Valhalla Legends\GPSServer\PDEAddress = C3CF657E (REG_DWORD Hex) * \HKLM\Software\Valhalla Legends\GPSServer\PDEPort = 7788 (REG_DWORD Decimal) * \HKLM\Software\Valhalla Legends\GPSServer\Mode = 0 |

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore
Well I've tried regedits from #62 and #68 with no luck. I'm going to try going to the roof later to get as much clear sky as possible to see if I get better results. So far not even 1 sat has been seen by Google Maps. Thanks for all the good posts though.

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore
I'm running xv6900 wm6.1 with customizations, valhalla, google maps
Valhalla users Change HKLM\Software\Valhalla Legends\GPSServer\Mode=0, (from2) then soft reset This is what mine is GPS works; at my desk-inside-4 sats Does take a couple minutes for first lock Without Valhalla (fredcatsmommy's changes that spetrillo mentions) HKLM\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS\EnableAGPS = 0 and HKLM\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS\GPSMode = 1 |
