I NEED HELP WIT MY XV6900 (Verizon) PLEASE!!!

I know i shouldnt be writing you guys/girls, BUT I AM CLUELESS!! So, i have just purchased an 6900 off of ebay, it has Nintendo NES and GBA Emulators on it already, i dont know if that means it is unlocked already, i am guessing so. with that said, is there a way to back those up on my pc? and if so how?
Now, to my real question of hope. Could you please do me up a walkthrough of installing updates from start to finish, i am VERY paranoid that if i do all this by simple threads, that i will Brick my device, i am broke and do not have the money for a new phone.
I would like WM6.1, Opera 9.5 (or what u suggest for a better browser), a GPS system that will work, Messy apps; Yahoo, Msn-Live(which i believe comes with the WM6.1 but i am not sure), and really, anything you (Trusted People) would suggest installing on the device.
I enjoy messing around with new and unfamiliar programs, so really, what you believe are good programs to have on the HTC Touch XV6900 for Verizon, are good enough for me

Please help me with this, for like i said, i am highly paranoid to do this myself due to my being layed-off factor.

The best thing to do, would be to start in the vogue upgrade sub-folder at the top of this page. Read the stickies. It's hard to give you a certain way of upgrading as there are so many different preferences and roms.
I personally am running the hacked verizon leaked rom. It would probably be a good rom to start with, its simple to install and gives you wm6.1, GPS, and Rev. A. Do a search on it. There is a long thread on it in the sub-folder I mentioned earlier. Other than that, there are many other great roms and programs you can find here.

Just a FYI, there is no accelerometer on the Touch.

i do have a site shane that its http://www.phonenews.com/phones/inde...TC_Touch_(CDMA) also has that update, but how would i back up the emulators that are on my unit??? i havent gotten it yet, i am today, friday tho. and if i do that update, will i lose those emulators? and i understand that now gypsy, i will probably end up selling this and getting the Pro. or omnia. but idk, i may like this

The emulator itself is easy to find on the internet. The game roms, you will have to search your new phone for, but they are all mostly findable on the internet also. PPCGeeks has a sub-folder for games, in the software section.
When you get the phone you'll see how easy it is to sync it with your computer and get the files backed up.
Just take your time, read, and enjoy having your phone. There are a lot cool things to do with your it.

1. just cuz yo have emulators on your phone doesnt mean its unlocked, emulators are just downloaded programs runnin on your phone, they can run on stock rom...

2.tether to your comp w/ active sync and click explore to open a window on your desktop that accss your device, from there you can drag and drop any and all file from your device to your comp(including emulators) for backing up, and vice versa... active sync will automatically convert whatever need converting

3. Read the stickied posts in this forum, take you tie too be sure you understand what they are sayin and youll be fine... just dont rush through everything, get to know your new phone and device, and youll be up grading flashing etc in no time

4. the touch doesnt have accelormeter or anything close

5. theres so many different apps and thems, setting, tweaks to choose from its really all a matter of preference, take you time, explore the boarrds, figure out what you like, trial and error man... also check out a site called smartphonejunie (do a google search and youll find them) there you can get all the apps and programs and lots of help too
